Stepping away from a run

I learned not to pour cold alcohol into hot glass on my very first run ever lol. Never again… I still have nightmares from cleaning that up

I have 6x 2l bf on hand.

Lol

In the past I’ve used cold acetone (was winter, store it in the garage), wonder if cold doesnt work as well as warm or room temp acetone.

I’ve been pouring D-limonene in the flask after a run once it cools to around 100c and stir it in real well. Even when I leave it overnight to clean in the morning, it’s a breeze. Idk why I never thought to run solvent through the system after a run though. That’s going to save me so much on acetone, as usually I just throw all the parts in a bucket of acetone. :expressionless:

@Demontrich Warm acetone definitely works SO much better than cold.

That may have been my issue all along. I’ll be doing a run in 3 weeks.

@Rowan there may be hope yet for me.

About shutting down mid run
If you can place your mantel on a lab jack and the bf and glasswear on a lab stand not the pole on the mantel
When shutting down leave vacuum running at all times till starting again
And making a 1" of space between BF and mantel will cool things down fast
Keeping your product from unnessesary heat
