This is a cut down stainless keg with legs added, along with a valve and nipple at the bottom.
Has a perforated stainless screen to back the coffee filter (prevent tearing/blinding) and a round poly ring to push the filter edge against the ID of the keg to reduce/eliminate leakage. Also includes some insulation wrap. This was used for crude winterization in ethanol/methanol with 18" round coffee filters and dry ice, a lot more sturdy than the plastic ones you can get from Bel-Art and way less likely to get damaged under extreme temp swings.
Located in Firestone Colorado. Can deliver if you’re nearby. Kinda bulky to ship but if someone wanted it bad enough I could package up and ship for around a hundred bucks additional
. Asking $200 OBO.

Can you show a photo of the interior with the stainless backing screen?
@moronnabis I’ll get pics for you in the next day or so

@moronnabis see below, shown in layers, the bottom is large OD pipes cut at angles so the tops are all level, middle is stainless perforated sheet, top are the 2 pieces of poly to hold filter paper flat and against the sides. Will also include several clamps for the insulation pictured above to try and keep temps low throughout a filtration
Thank you , it is a very clever design utilizing the keg and 18” coffee filters.
At one time we used a Bel Art…that was just a failure.
I can not use it for what I had in mind…but if I lived in Colorado…I’d buy it in.a flash…$200 you can not go wrong.with that price.
Being stainless, you can just store it outside…spay it off and use it…
Are you still running methanol?

My lab only ever ran cold dentured ethanol, we built this really early on and I let a buddy use it for a while, but I’m trying to do some spring cleaning in/around my garage and have less stuff collecting dust that isn’t being used
Bumpity bump bump de bump

Hey dude! Long time, no see! Hope all is well! This unit still available? Whats the ball park of the volume? Do you think a 450mm filter paper would fit her properly?
@WolfeXtracts Hey where are you these days? It’s been a minute. Still have it, not sure exactly of the volume but it has about 2.5-3" above the filter. We were using 18" Bunn coffee filters with it and the edges would roll up the sides a bit, looks like 450MM is about 17.7" so I imagine they’d work fine. Can get an exact diameter and distance above the expanded sheet when I get home tonight

Thanks, dude! Been doing some consulting in Missouri and Oklahoma. Home base is in Pueblo, nowadays. Be much appreciated if you can get me the depth and diameter when convenient. Thanks in advance!
@WolfeXtracts inside diameter is 16.5” just shy of 3” from stainless grate to rim height

Thanks dude! Gonna be a bit small for what I’m looking for.
