Could you post more about revenue sharing and bonuses? Not interested personally but I have to imagine your lead extraction tech is going to need significantly more compensation than $18. Bud tenders get paid more than that most places and New York has a super high cost of living. This is skilled labor, someone can make $18 working almost anywhere these days…

Couldn’t have nailed it more than this. Even hard up, someone with those skills would pass up 18 an hour because if they have the skills to do the job and developed the skills independently, chances are they already know the surrounding workflow and also know that even if they produced 1oz a week total independently, they could make more than they would there and not have to factor in taxes when it’s all said and done. You’ll likely get tons of applicants that need training up the wazoo but that figure won’t attract anyone that really knows what they’re doing because if anyone in that area has history making really good rosin, likely they’re already doing it independently. I wish you luck though.

This is only a few dollars over minimum wage in NY. Expect to get minimum wage work for that amount. My kid makes $22.50 an hour working at hagen daz in a tax free state before tips. he literally gets to do homework and watch youtube every minute hes not serving customers.

Thanks for the comment. The wage compensation Is $18 plus revenue share. The total compensation package will be discussed with candidates. If your son is seeking employment with us (NY requires age 18+), please have him submit a resume to careers@susquehannaspirit.com

But what if you run at a loss like most cannabis brands?

Hypothetical situations regarding compensation will be discussed with candidates.

you can probably find a strong wook up at Herkimer in the mines.

Disagree that lead extractor in a rosin shop is skilled labor. If they were growing the flower too it’d be different. As long as the owner leaves them some detailed SOPs, you can have minimum wage wooks running the show

agreed. it’s definitely doable. you’re turnover will be higher and you’re gonna hear about how they all deserve more money pretty often (which they probably do, assuming they do good work),

but it can definitely be done with $18-20/hr employees, at least to start out.

Thanks for your comment. We definitely want to do higher, so we’re implementing the revenue share to do it. Hopefully this can lower turnover. We aspire to be a big, reputable employer in an area that needs more of that.
