Methanol will drop out fats really easy. So if you have a concern of waxes or fats then dissolve extract in 5:1 methanol:extract and put the extract in a below freezer freezer for a couple minutes and your solution will become cloudy if it has fats and waxes present.

Same for acetone… whenever I prep samples for my GC, if it has waxes they crash instantly.

on some level? is the fats and lipids mixed with what could be considered a bit more full spectrum? Or is all that stuff garbage? I use my lame waxy 2nd run bho to make a gummy and people seem to say it gets them high as fuck.
how scientific of your friends… what kind of potency do you think it has to get them “high as fuck.”

my guess is 40 mg per and a 3 gummy dose but some get too high off one. super mega stoners like 3 high as fuck means like you can barely get out the chair.

im a fan of helicopters so i should say that. my dog is named after a helicopter , To bring it back on topic- i remember things like dewaxing columns, I have one. I dont have a chiller but its an open dewax. I dont plan on ever using it but do those things work? Its 3 inch and i have made a larger system so i dont see using it. ive used it but not full of dry ice as a dewaxer just as a column

What do you use instead of a dew column? I only use it for trim diamonds but still.
Just run colder would be my 2 cents.
With pre chilled butane (tank and injection coil) and my column on di, I can’t see how much I could improve my product with a dewax column tbh…
I’m sure there are some fats & lipids, but not enough to bother me or affect the viscosity of my terps/hte…

I’ve ran the same plant material both ways…one w jacket and one without. Always use dry ice cold solvent IR gun reads LO. And I always prefreeze my material on dry ice before loading it
I see a difference using the jacket vs not when making diamonds or sugar
W the jacket I get more clear stones and thinner terps. Without the jacket I get thicker terps and sometimes the stones arent as clear.
Ya, reruns are and should be pointless.
@Chewwie I just run extraction column to collection pot, and recover passively as I’m pouring into collection.

Is the yield difference substantial? I have tried that before and end up with almost half the yield. Terrible set up so I may be a bad example.

Id just run more frozen gas and get the rest but my set up allows me to double the gas if needed
Do I use the jacket anymore…no I just prefreeze my material on dry ice and run dry icd cold solvent but it’s definitely thicker terps without the jacket for me. But it does take more solvent when using the jacket

Same. My extraction tube has a jacket and I actually just pull a vacuum on it. Whether it’s as good as a thermos or not is debatable.
