Well, this is amazing.
Micro and Macro. Big root ball from about 8 years ago, bit of pink stain from the maxibloom I used to use in later flower in place of jacks. Just getting back into growing again for fun with a little greenhouse SCROG RDWC. I’m hooked!
Edit: scratch that, I just looked, it was actually 12 years ago Time flies when you’re having fun.
I use this too. I think it’s called “egg crate”, diffuser, maybe other stuff too in some places. Anyways. It doesn’t have “feet” obviously, so I wish I had some of those Grodan terracotta colored inserts. But, I’ve been using 1010 trays lately anyways, so they wouldn’t fit.
But what I wanted to say is that that “diffuser” stuff tends to stain on me. Even the color from the coco, if I use coco, stains it. Do you notice that as well?
Is this Viagrow the one you have? I was looking at it on homedepot website the other day. It’s just over $100 cad. TurboKlone is just over $300 cad.
What’s the quality of the plastic? How deep is the “res”, how much water does it hold? And does the top “lid” fit into a lip on the bottom/res (like the do on the pricier cloners like ezclone, turboclone) to prevent the chance of any leaks?
If you know what size collars it takes that’d be great too. I’m thinking about getting some PermaClone collars and they come in various sizes.
Thanks for any details.
Not bad for my first aerocloner run. Ph got out of whack in the first half but totally swapped the water out after the first signs of stress and they came back with a vengence. Made a few changes to how i prep the cuts and expect this run to be much nicer with far more roots.
That looks great, man. I hope you get it figured out more than me. I have built a lot of those. Mine work great at first, but go downhill with time. Idk what I’m doing wrong, it’s a buildup of something, probably microbial. I talked to a local guy who used full strength nutes and king crab in his cloners.
Do you run a flush ?
Probably not, because I don’t know what you mean. Just light nutes is what I ran.
I’ve been using vermiculite lately, easy and cheap.
What do you mean by build up then? Are you doing a bed style vermiculite setup or just stating from when you ran a cloner with sprayer?
I toyed with bubble cloning a long time ago and had great results in newly built setups, but would eventually end up with rotting stems, same experience as @Autumn_Ridge_Hemp. Some strains were ok while others were more susceptible. Ended up going back to peat pucks, takes a couple days longer but it’s very reliable.
Right now cups of vermiculite work great for me. My past builds of ez cloner type machines were great at first, but then as was just mentioned above, everything liked to rot. I’m guessing that is a buildup of bad bacteria.
