Setting up passive system

Like I said it’s not about the temp

Its about the heat transfer

Get some way to check it…I don’t think it’s saving you 5 min honestly transfer or not. It’s only gonna happen so fast though right

Acetone so aggressive on gaskets

Your def getting there faster though

I’m just guessing tbh, I know I can get my solvent colder though

It also helps to have 1/4" lines instead of 3/8" like me

Thatll slow things down

I’m using acetone for my jacket and in a 5 gallon bucket for the coils

No special gaskets needed

Ok. I’ve got acetone around.

I use my injection coils for recovery as well. I could see acetone being the way since speed is what I’m going for on the recovery side.

I’ll give it a try next time. Thanks dude!

Makes perfect sense to use it then for sure

I can’t help but notice you need some passive help…

I am here

Lmk if it improves your speed, in theory it should!

Pics?

Injection coils are ordered.

@GroovyOctopusLabs I will put photos up once I start assembling. All my parts will be arriving this week.

draw us a full diagram of your system.

get extra ptfe gaskets. if they dont seat perfectly you’re going to have a nut ruining experience tightening away the leak.
get the nice flanged outer lip gaskets for your 10inch stuff for ease of use.
use a bigger pump and passive drain for your water vs 2 pumps.
use a 1/2hp or larger continuous duty sump pump for real lift power.
get yourself some GOOD npt thread tape.

INSULATE ~EVERYTHING~

what are your liquid inject and gas recovery line sizes?

welcome to team passive.

i run similar , tank on dry ice/iso, coil and column also, N2 push, I wasn’t sure that the coil was better than just cold tank, but I confirmed this weekend that indeed the coil improved my quality greatly actually, also 1/4 inch lines

Those gaskets with the outer lip for larger parts should be in tricks of the trade, I recently got some and they make my life much so much easier

Changed shit dramatically right?

you should put some molsieve beads in before your condensation coil[s] on recovery.

looks good.

you may want to upgrade your bottom pot to bottom drain at some point.

And upgrade that vapor line to ½ inch or multiple ⅜ lines.

And ⅜ liquid lines. Those ¼ are as useless as tits on a bull

What kind of power do you have at your panel? Can you handle 230/30A?

You’re going to need more heat. Get a jacketed base and a proper heater. Jacket the spool as well, not just the bowl.

Get something that will have 6-8kw of heat to keep up. If you can use an instant water heater and cycle the water back through, that may work, you can just have the heater in a completely different room and use hoses to the equipment. Sounds janky, but the other option is going to cost 6k which is far more adequate.

And you don’t need bottom feed, I promise. It’s not a thing…
