Selling CBD Locally (Florida)

I have to admit, CBD is blowing up even more than I thought it would, and that’s saying a lot. I expected this market to boom, but wow is it booming. (Here in Florida) I’m seeing more and more gas stations and such convinience stores have CBD products of some sort, vape and smoke shops are getting more product to supply demand, there are 2-3 cbd kiosks in any given mall (at least where I live), and they’re even opening cbd shops, that are specifically opened to sell cbd products. My question is, how could I get in on this? If I could supply these small-time stores with the product, say either by making the product on my own, or buying it wholesale and selling it that way. Recently I went to the mall by me, and there are 3 kiosks there that sell cbd products, one that is exclusive to cbd. All of them jumped when I said I could (maybe) supply them with about 100-200 cbd carts a month, and they really did not care for the lab tests (if I were to even be able to supply them, anyways). The only thing one person asked for was the brands, and as far as that, there are many various companies that print the packaging for things like this (carts, concentrate, etc), so one could technically make their own brand and market the carts this way, and sell them to small time kiosks and gas stations that have no problem selling these products nowadays. Also another concern is the legalities of it. Since the Farm Bill passing in December of 2018, It is now legal to grow hemp in Florida so long as it contains no more than .3% thc content. Hypothetically, couldn’t I just use a property of a couple hundred square feet, grow some hemp, extract the cbd out of it, and make it into carts, or even sell the concentrate? (Cbd rosin from a press about a 5-10% yield, extracting with short path distillation and selling the cbd distillate, turning that into gummies/brownies, etc.). It’s a very lucrative market and I’m very interested in putting my foot in it, even just running numbers, one could buy a pound of high grade cbd for under $100. Extract the thc with a 5-10% yield, we’ll go with 7.5 percent for a median, that equals 33.6 grams of cbd… for $100. These kiosks that I mentioned earlier, are selling these same grams of concentrate for $80+, even the smoke shops around me are selling cbd distillate syringes, full grams, for $60!! When it would cost 2-3 dollars to produce!! Please share your thoughts guys, sorry for kind of rambling on.

Let’s talk

I’m glad that you’re interested, also, anyone else that is interested just shoot me a text as well. Thanks guys!

FYI. Don’t go in your backyard and plant a bunch of hemp plants thinking its legal quite yet. Just because the Feds made hemp “legal” doesn’t mean its legal in Florida. Florida now has to come up with their own form of legislation and ways to regulate it. Then they must submit their program to the USDA for approval. Most likely you will have to get a permit. If states don’t submit their plan, then they will default to the USDA’s program…whatever that might be.

Also a couple hundred square feet is barely 1% of an acre. You probably want to have closer to an acre to make a dent. Just my thought.

That’s true, but growing on my own is just a thought. There are many other ways to get the product, and also, you’re right I would want to be thinking closer to an acre but as a start, just using a couple hundred square feet (hypothetically) would bring in an insane profit, especially if it’s just a 1-2 man operation.

How would I even go about if I wanted to start my own small time company? I’d have about 4 thousand to invest in it at first. For starters, is this enough? Should I be more focused on buying it bulk and selling it to these gas stations/kiosks/vape and smoke shops, or making it on my own and selling it that way? Help me out guys

Get to work!
You didn’t even mention selling packaged hemp flower.

I would prove the theory by sourcing some products & seeing profit before planting your fields.

My understanding is that the Federal Gov controls all hemp, CBD legality, unless an individual state makes their own laws about hemp/CBD. So as long as your state has not yet made any threatening laws to CBD/hemp then the law falls under the Federal Gov, which is as long as thc falls under .3% you should be pretty safe.
This is just my understanding though, if I am misunderstood by anyone please inform!

Because you can’t in florida. No one will touch packaged hemp in south florida at least
