2g of 'splosion in each tube, 30 mins at 4k.

Bout to crank it back up to 4k for another 60 and see what comes out. The RS above it has become very very light. Shoulda flicked that too. Had tons of terps still in there. Probably gonna reconstitute the sugar and terps in different jars. Then make them make a “put sub into a coma” baby.

Hey I looked at coolbot, I’m not understanding the product. To me it seems like an extra thermostat for a window AC unit. Could you elaborate on the product a little bit if you don’t mind?

Coolbot makes cold rooms and they also make the device that overrides an air conditioner’s thermostat to allow it to cool below factory settings. There is a list of ACs that are compatible with their device. We use ours on a 3 ton mini split to cool our lab down to 50F during extraction days and turn it up for other processes.

@SubstituteCreature has reverse engineered s much more economical version of this device like the (friendliest) mad scientist that he is

Aw thank you bro!

So how a coolbot works is essentially you have a heat pad - that head pad will hook onto your AC’s temperature control unit as most all ACs have this to turn on/off the compressor and will make it think it’s warmer than it actually is in the room to trigger the compressor and not just the fan. The LED pad you have is essentially what temperature the coolbot will kill your AC at, If I remember the install video correctly the only ‘one up’ you have over other methods with the cool bot is that you have a sensor that looks for frost in your condensing coils - if you have a clean AC and don’t plan on using it 24/7 it really isn’t THAT important since you probably won’t frost over an AC with less than 24 hours of use unless it’s fucked.

NOW - (thanks to @vortal I was able to wrap my head around this) you have two ways to go if not wanting to use a coolbot. You can totally override most of the temp control circuits directly and just literally put a wire between that circuit and the condenser so whenever the AC is powered on, the condenser is powered on. A bit of open heart surgery on your AC but it’s not an awful way to go if you know exactly what you’re looking for - as for mine it had a bunch of different control units and I didn’t want to fuck those up to lower the overall efficiency in there

What I did was find the temp control unit and free it directly from the condenser fins. Promptly set it the fuck on fire (accidentally! but hey fire is fucking cool). Buy 2 new ones because I destroy everything. Got two 4ft pieces of copper wire and spliced an extra 4 ft into the AC temperature sensor, drilled a hole in the wall and ran the sensor to the back of the AC.

AC compressor kicks on above 60f, blasts hot air out of the back of the unit, temp sensor sees the blast of hot air - keeps that motherfucker running cold.

I have that Autopilot temp control unit I got from a box of shit from a grower that decided to quit (looks like it’s 40 bucks or so new?) to keep my AC from running past whatever temp (this would be the equiv. to the LCD screen function except with knobs). I did about 3 washes this week and all of them were 40 degrees or less, took about 20-30 minutes to get the cold room down to temp.

Bonus pic - pulling a @TheWillBilly special and spinning some more fuckin’ rosin terps out!

Cheap and easy just like me!

Pressed last night. Making me feel all tingly

now run those terps on a br or short path and have some amazing pure terpenes and flavonoids. I feel rosin holds more flavonoids then bho, but this is just a guess and ive never seen and tests that show a real difference between the two. Are flavonoids not part of the terpene tests that labs do.

Just had a flash back to br telling everyone they can seperate d9 and CBD on those things shudder idk if I’ll ever get over that PTSD

BR made lots of promises. We had one of the first 22L on the west coast. It does a great separation, but its so slow we noticed a lot of isomerization even using no powders. Don’t have one anymore, but if I did, it would be used for stripping terps pretty and that’s about it.

Cold temp rosinsplosion? What the actual fuck.

Strawberry banana black key lime

I have my crash test asian sciencing the shit out of it right now - will report back if it did anything positive.

Curious if many of you use the “recipes” function on the Pure Pressure presses…

I was taught to incrementally increase pressure over the course of each press. More increments than were programmable withing the recipes function. The SOP had me sitting there raising the PSI every 10-15 seconds.

This was months ago. I conducted side-by-side comparisons with manual incremental increases as my first method and programmed incremental increases using the recipe function as my second method. I saw no difference in yield. So I now use the recipe function every time and free up my technicians’ hands to perform other tasks while the press does its thing.

I just don’t trust them. Too many differences strain to strain. Last night was a good example, pressed some wedding cake that at 180 was very sluggish and viscous out of the bag but right after the next strain dumped out like water. Automated anything weirds me out - if the employee can’t perform the pressing function he shouldn’t be there since that’s a lynchpin of the whole process.

Plus they inherently lost my trust selling you inside out rosin bags (literally the most expensive on the market fucking FAR and away) BUT DON’T WORRY THEY’LL SELL YOU A FUCKING 10 DOLLAR TOOL SO YOU CAN TURN A BAG INSIDE OUT (which I did with a chopstick…)!

My financial trust is a tightrope. Granted they were there before most brands were doing anything in rosin but that just really stuck me in the craw so hard that years later I can’t shake it from my head.

Oh I don’t use their bags…no no no…just the press.

We also got an Axis system as a demo unit so can’t complain there.

But the Pure Pressure pressure bags are absolute shit…

More asking about people using automation ya know?

Edit: I guess you answered my question with strain-to-strain variation

I just think automation in anything rosin is just a bad idea because then said wook when ANYTHING goes wrong melts down and curls up into a ball. Or even worse, thinks that everything is OK when he screwed it up fucking HARD just because he/she has that safety blanket of the ‘automated recipes’. In my view it would take longer to get every bag similarly pressed to the same PSI specs (the hash not plates) so your wook using entirely automated recipes won’t fuck it up because he/she doesn’t have the training to recognize what goes into a good press.

Even in the higher luxury brands in say the liquor industry automation is almost 0 - I consider the rosin I make akin to what I like to drink, barrel aged scotch. The people who make that stuff fucking OBSESS over every little thing and if you try to automate their process they’ll just tell you to go work for Jameson’s or some crap whiskey company. These people know every bit about what they’re doing and are always aspiring to up their game - that’s why companies like Glenlivet are still a staple in higher end libations.

In the end it’s the same reason why I rebuilt my grow to get my rosin dialed, why I fix my own car and why I make my own dabs - In the end nobody gives a fuck as much as you do unless they have as much skin in the game as you do.

I see your point. We end up with fewer blowouts when using automation and the press stops automatically. I’d say it’s useful for days when we’re pressing for 8 hours straight and it’s the same strain, same micron.

I agree with much of what you’re saying about accountability in the worker’s habits and muscle memory for sure.

Ok next question, who pre-presses?
