So two last questions, how will I know when all the isolate has crashed out?
And do I put these in the oven and purge after pulling them out and letting them air dry?

Let some the solvent evaporate and reseal the lid…changing the solvent dissolved into the solution will allow you to drop the rest the thca out if there is any
As dark as the pentane is I probably can get a lil more growth evaporating some solvent first before resealing it
But that looks great looks like 2 huge stones how long did this take

Of course I forgot to put the date on the jar because I scribbled way too many notes on it lol I wanna say I dissolved it in November Sometime, just not sure what day and honestly not sure how long they’ve been this big I haven’t even looked at the jar since about 3 days after dissolving. Could have been that big weeks ago but I’ll never know!
How long would I let it go after evaporating a bit more solvent?

Once it evaporates if I didn’t see growth within about week u could most likely call it

I’d give it long burps rather than leave it open. Pentane evaporates pretty easy. Do you remember how much of each you put in? You’ll know how much pentane you are letting go if you have your weights

That’s good idea what @Dred_pirate said…do u know the amount thca that was originally dissolved into the pentane. It’ll help give u idea how much solvent is left

Pretty sure he said he did a 1:1 ratio, was like 260g:260g iirc, was reading this thread the other day.

Yessir, 235g THCA: 260g pentane. So I pull out the THCA that’s in there and weigh it?
Personally, that’s what I would do since it’s been so long. Pour off mother liquor into clean jar, weigh stones, purge under vacuum. If you don’t have your ~200g THCa there, try seeding the mother liquor and going for another recrystallization. @Backyard_Boy
Edit: and I’d do all that after doing what dred said, burping to evap.

I like to collect my mother liquors from harvesting, I combine and introduce a bit of clean solvent back to the mix to allow me to heat up my solution and crash out the renaming thca in mother liquor into diamonds.
Nothing goes to waste.

No. He is measuring the amount of pentane that he evaporates.the jar gets lighter

And also I have the tare weight of the jar written on the lid. But yeah, don’t even need that to know how much pentane is evaporating.

I just thought the point was understanding how much had dropped out vs how much pentane is left in the jar, which I assume you’d need the tare weight for. I dunno lol
