Dry ice companies
I’d imagine a company like @AdChem which put in a huge co2 tanks and their own dry ice production facilities are gonna be sitting pretty
Theyve been out for months here, there’s a semi lock on the co2 supply and the older local company is pissed there is now competition. They even stock Carbon chemistry now and you know the other guys who should have the norcal region all to them selves.
Thanks @Killa12345 for mentioning us on this topic. We’ve had a huge uptick in dry ice requests from bioscience companies specifically for shipping the vaccine nationwide/internationally. Also, requests from military bases working on vaccine distribution. CO2 this year has already been very difficult to get due to pandemic and fires specifically in CA cause PG&E is forcing power outages in a lot of counties that hold some large CO2 manufacturing plants. Martinez plant is down indefinitely, which was a very long standing manufacturing plant. AdChem is over the hump and has full supply back in stock. Call us if you need dry ice or CO2 in CA, and S OR. The larger companies like Prax are allocating dry ice to their most profitable accounts. Fuck that. AdChem is here to make sure extractors have what they need. You guys are first in line then everyone else. Thank you.
We’ve been getting reports on the east coast about industrial CO2 supply interruptions. Not sure what the deal is, sounds like a few of the big plants are having shutdowns. Could also just be our gas suppliers giving us some BS
Well time for regulations to include c02 generators for extraction facilities to make their own dry ice.
Holy shit yeah that wouldn’t be too hard. We could sacrifice some recovered hydrocarbon to generate c02. Why tf not. I posted numerous times here, “Why doesn’t the cannabis industry make their own dry ice if there’s c02 extractions in the first place”?
Now I just learned burning hydrocarbons in some way that captures the c02 is a thing. So like… If there’s any hydrocarbons in tanks that they don’t wanna use for extraction anymore, they should be disposing them into a unit that burns said hydrocarbons a certain way that makes it able to capture the c02. Then recycle the recovery tanks if they’re carbon steel.

I imagine co2 is good business this year period if you can maintain lines.
The non dry ice vaccine definitely seems more visible for longevity though.
Finally found a good use for the hydrocarbon company’s solvent
Did I save the day!!?!!
Wait this begs the question, why isn’t the EPA and DEA building c02 enrichment hangars? If the government can build an airforce base in 2 months (speculation) then why not hangars for c02 enrichment? Why not build cargo planes with c02 enrichment devices and - 80 freezers?
The military should recruit all the best hvac techs in the country to serve the crisis
Yeah most CO2 is produced from oxyfuel burning power generation which produces nearly pure CO2 out of the exhaust. The issue I assume is related to the condensing/bottling equipment operations as I assume the actual fuel burning portion of the plants is still operating
both of those vaccines are using modified rna. You dont like gmo food this is gmhumans.
not actually GM Humans.
the two leading candidates are both mRNA based. even with the base analogs and other trickery used to prolong functionality, mRNA are ephemeral and no change to the underlying genome is being made here.
genome remains the same.
transcriptome has a foreign entry (similar to most viral infections)
proteome also has a new member, as coded by the introduced mRNA.
after being read & acted upon 10 or 100 times, the introduced mRNA is degraded (as happens to all mRNA eventually), and the new protein is no longer produced. eventually (a day or three without having read their R&D work) the new protein is also degraded, and we’re back to the proteome we started with. except for some of your immune cells, which have hopefully ramped up production of neutralizing antibodies to the viral spike protein.
what could go wrong?
so the used biomass fired steam turbine powered refrigeration unit also needs to incorporate CO2 capture?
well then…
If you’re having trouble getting dry ice, get a cylinder of co2 with a dip tube. Same amount of cooling power pound for pound as dry ice and it doesn’t sublimate after you buy it.
Just gotta make a dispensing attachment. Cga to npt with a compression fitting and a copper tube works well.
you could turn into a spider?
can you dab the vCCINE OR YOU HAVE TO BOOF IT?
Probably gotta man it up
I am extremely inefficient but I use 50 lbs for a 1 lb run. I could easily stack columns and run more and collect inbetween runs but I havent done that yet because im testing which crc I should use for a larger run. so far its lookoing like w1. ive noticed a big diff in temps by cooling for an hour or more in dry ice vs a shorter time. I put the alcohol can in the dry ice for an hour and then when its in the bucket with the coil and a block of dry iceits not even bubbling and reads below -56 on my guage
