Repeating Syringe / Pipette in 0.05mL increments?

Hey all,
I was wondering if someone could help answer a question i had about finding a product. I am looking for a repeater sringe that can dispense liquids at increments of 0.05ml, or 50uL. Meaning it could go as low as 0.05ml, incrementally set to up to 1mL. After looking up products i am seeing dispensors that can fill up 0.1ml at a time, but not 0.05. The uL syringes I am seeing only go up to 50uL, 0.05ml, but can only go up that high and do not allow for incremental changes of 0.05ml. Our capsules require 0.65 ml of tincture to fill them up, 0.7ml will over fill and 0.6ml will underfill them.

MY business currently does not have enough capital to get a capsule filling machine yet and were using a regular syringe to fill them which is causing a huge bottleneck in the cap process. It is also very easy to overfill the caps which causes MCT to spill on the sides and gives out caps a greasy residue that sticks to bottles and your fingers if you touch them, not ideal for vendors and consumers. Is a syringe that holds about 20-50ml of solution and dispenses up to 1ml of liquid in 0.05ml increments too much to ask for? I cant seem to find anything on the forums or online.

Thanks

Is this correct?

ALMOST! I’m pretty sure this device is only able to do preset amounts of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1 0.5 1 ml selections, but not increments. Im thinking like a cart gun how you can set it to 0.5ml 1ml 2ml etc, but with increments of 0.05ml that ranges from 0.05ml up to 1ml… so it can hit 0.65 ml with decent precision. it doesnt have to be on the dot but close enough that it wont overfill the cap. if its even possible all the results i found require pre set tips that only dispense in set amounts for the capacity of the tip you put on, and not increments.

check the manual:

I appreciate the help tho!

I used this model in two previous non-cannabis positions - one for dispensing base pairs into vials and one for dispensing hologics HPV test assay into vials. I used a 5-10mL tip and was able to set it down to my necessary volume. Based on the tip you use (the gun can detect) and the dispense volume you set, it will display the amount of dispenses you can make. I don’t know how low it will go but I know I’ve used it on various settings with various tips.

Edit: did you read the doc you posted? It has a table that describes exactly what I just wrote.

Change the potency and load less.

(And yes, I could build you one…)

So it could be preset to exactly 0.65 ml? Im looking at the manual and i see volume slection and steps.
Would steps be the amount of times it is dispensing 0.05 ml, i see 50 steps at 50ul, would that be 50ul dispensed 50 times so 0.05ml x 50 so 2.5ml dispensed each time you push the button? so i would be able to set it to 13 steps to get 0.65mL?

** as an example:
You would select the purple tip and you’d get to dispense 65 uL 7 times for a total max volume of 0.5mL in your syringe.

Press button to fill.
Press button to remove first little bit.
Each subsequent button press will dispense 65uL until empty.
Repeat 7 times.
45uL of syringe space was not used.
Refill.

Is it for simple r&d or for filling?

It would be for filling to cut back on overall fill time and to prevent overfilling caps that will in turn be covered in a coating of MCT. My employee is pretty good at filling caps on his own a a decent pace but its hard to get caps filled accuratly that are not overfilled in a timely manner. I myself can fill the caps perfectly but it takes me about 15 minutes to just fill 100… not the best but i feel like it could be done in 5 or so and that adds up when your doing batches of 1000 at a time and we do plan on scaling up production here soon.

Overfilling wouldnt normally be an issue but when it happens it gets a slimy layer of MCT on the caps that will spread to others. They are pretty sturdy, with only a few leaks out of 1000 but the caps pick the MCT up and can make the bottle look greasy. A few stores had some samples and (rightfully so) complained, but they also tried to say the caps leaked even tho they were all filled up well.
I try to wipe them down before they go out but im not always the one filling orders. I guess ill just have to make him wipe them down before they go out until i can find what im looking for. I would love to get a cap filling machine but they are just too expensive at $7-10k for what we need

shes a beauty hopefully one day!

Check them out they have a client doing 15000 carts per hour.

$7k per unit, I think he does a deal for bitcoin purchase though.

Do you have a rough idea on how much that would cost? I would potentially buy two if they are at a decent price

how much you got?!?

you’d be better off buying an 8 channel or 12 channel pipettor.

I was looking to spend around $4-500 on one if thats feasible. I know you build them yourself but have no idea what the price range for a custom built piece from you.

Something like a 30-50ml capacity would be ideal. If you can actually get a gauge that increments in 0.05ml capacity it can be used from filling caps to dosing candies with alcohol tinctures… that way you can make Sprayed edibles with at least accurate doses in each one. im sure this could be used by many people in the industry if you made them!

Can you build me a positive displacement terp syringe that actually works? I have spent at least 2,500 on non working positive displacement syringes

That is 100% verifiably false

I’d like to see if they can do .05 as verified by a balance, and what the consistency is. Not saying it’s a bad machine at all, just have my doubts on the accuracy and repeatability of a repeater style in the sub .1g level.

@NorthCarolindica our Jet-Fueler might be what you are looking for, but probably not in the same price range. You can do .01 increments from 0 up to 5ml. (Technically, .0016 increments, but we can’t measure down that low.)

Hamilton. You get what you pay for =) BTW these can be bolted onto the Jet-Fueler as-is.

We use a similar system in the Vape-Jet and Jet-Fueler systems. We use the OEM versions of these pumps and valves. Although we now have valves and syringes custom-made. While Hamilton is great, they are not ideal for customized products at this volume.
