Hi F4200 Gang,
What is the official consensus (Hahahah, science question, asking for consensus) for the Red colored Oil that comes with first pass distillate that had not been degummed. I saw quite a post on this at one time and just cannot find the post again with my searches (Now that I need it!). Thanks in advance!
This thread has some information on degumming if you scroll down a bit. The video is worth watching as well. My guess to the smell would be the result of a non-cannabinoid vapor trapped in the system, degrading, and contaminating the distillate. It’s common for my first pass to have a little whiff of something when I harvest the receiving flask.
