Search cannabidiol, look for your malady, these studies should provide a benchmark dose.
Me? Me.
Vast majority of the scientific literature suggest significantly higher doses than your average gas station CBD slanger is providing.
And there is a single study, paid for by the company making the nano product, that shows their nano CBD product is 3-4x more bioavailable
There’s a massive study on Parkinson’s and CBD. The people taking 300mg/day saw significantly better quality of life results than those taking 75mg or the placebo
My uncle being diagnosed with Parkinson’s is what lead me down this path. He is seeing great results with 500mg/cbd/day, the CBG helps a little, the THC makes things worse
Also, I’ve worked with Quicksilver and their vesisorb system. I have boxes full of the shit. It’s dosed at like 25mg/cap. They don’t work for him at all.
@Future if you look at studies on bioavailability of other lipophilic compounds, you’ll see that encapsulation (effectively water soluble) improves bioavailability. For example, lots of studies on cucrcumin bioavailability.
From similar studies on a variety of lipophilic compounds, we can reasonably assume that cannabinoids also have better bioavailability when encapsulated. I realize that’s a weak argument, but the principle of improving the bioavailability of poorly soluble compounds through encapsulation is well documented and understood.
I provided a link to the study on CBD a few posts up. They found it to be like 3-4x more bioavailable. So my uncle used their products, 3x less than the 500mg (isolate + MCT) that currently stops his shaking… Zero effects
Gotcha. I thought you were saying the research wasn’t legitimate because it was sponsored by the company.
How is your uncle currently taking the CBD, is that just a tincture with the MCT? I personally found soft gels to work the best, the only time I really noticeably feel CBD is when I take 2 x 50mg full spectrum soft gels or dab 50-100 mg isolate.
It was legitimate research, sponsored by the company looking for the results… Not saying its bad, just questionable. The same company dominates a few other niche industries behind their own research. CoQ10 being a big one.
Soft gels and tinctures, all isolate in MCT. Full or Broad spectrum oil requires significantly more for him to get the same effects, unless its just CBD and CBG, then he is seeing the same effects with less CBD. THC makes his tremors worse
PSA if you sell finished products and your intention is a long term legitimate brand and product and not a get rich quick scheme, do yourself and the rest of the industry a favor and offer products that provide a medicinal dose. There have been many uneducated consumers that buy 5mg/30 mL tincture and then claim CBD does not work and this is nothing but bad for industry!
Anxiety is one of the things CBD helps most with. Check out this review in the Journal of The American Pharmacists Association: https://sci-hub.se/downloads-ii/2019-12-28/c6/10.1016@j.japh.2019.11.008.pdf
“In the studies reviewed, CBD consistently demon- strated improved clinical outcomes in anxiety disorders, with a minimal adverse-effect profile.”
CBD and CBN is a good mix for that. Delta 8 doesn’t hurt either.
Thanks @munkdooligan and @james2pro for the info
So looks like CBD and CBN is what I will dabble with to see if this magic is real or hype. So 100-300mg per day? And would I split that in half between the CBD and CBN or 100-300mg each per day?
Also is the kidney toxicity fake? I guess I can do blood work on myself since I have access to it for next to nothing and test my own kidney levels while taking this stuff
And lastly, which form is most bio available? I see fututre talking about “nano product” and not 100% sure what that means
I’d worry more about your liver than the kidneys. It affects liver transaminase enzymes. Also be careful if you’re on certain medications, CBD interferes with cytochrome p450 type enzymes.
For dose, I’d just checkout the FDA dosing info on epidiolex. That way you can see the recommended dose per weight.
Personally, I’d try softgels. Easy to dose accurately and I find them the most effective delivery method besides smoking.
Edit: just saw the nano question. Basically, nano is just encapsulating the CBD/carrier oil. Usually it’s just an emulsion (like mayonnaise), sometimes it’s a polymer/solid lipid/liposome, but the encapsulated particle is smaller than 200nm in diameter. This particle usually bypasses first pass digestion and theoretically improves bioavailability. This process makes the lipophilic compound soluble in water.
Edit 2: I personally wouldn’t consume most CBN right now. You have a bunch of people without formal training in chemistry doing synthesis making random shit in addition to CBN. If you dabble with CBN, get it from someone like @anon93688
I am not making CBN right now. I’m in between gigs.
Well don’t go to him… go to someone like him lol
Can you elaborate please.
Did he find full spectrum CBD oil required a lower mg dose of CBD ? vs isolate in MCT?
And I didn’t understand the comment re CBG. Did he need lower mg doses using CBG crude/full spectrum vs CBG isolate ?
Thank you!
He needs to consume significantly more “full spec” CBD oil to get the same effects as the CBD isolate. The isolate works better for him in an MCT solution.
When there is CBG mixed with the CBD (a distillate I gave him had high CBD and CBG, with very few minor cannabinoids) the total needed was less
Interesting thank you for that. Is there any results that you have found on human testing?
Thanks dude
I’ll just stick to normal CBD and put the CBN and CBG on hold
And thanks for adressing the bioavailability question. I’m gonna take a guess that any reputable CBD slanger on here has the most bioavailable caps
Correct and the other cannabinoids are getting so cheap that you can make your own structure if you wanted too.
What CBD:CBG ratio are you using? I’ve read somewhere that 10:1 is a good starting point. I’ve made my own tinctures with 2500mg:250mg in MCT oil. I take .5ml to .75ml 3 to 4 times a day for neuropathy due to post chemo therapy, and it’s working great.
