PVPP Powder Removal / Final Filtration / PVPP Cartridges

We manufacture a product that was specifically designed to remove PVPP particles from final clarification of beverages. Perhaps this technology could be useful in craft batches for a very pure extract. Any thoughts?

Appears to be all polypropylene and stainless steel and sizes down to 5 micron. Polypropylene is generally PH neutral, also curious on price.

These cartridges are absolute rated Polypropylene. We can also offer nominally rated filters at a lower cost up to 4.5" diameter for better flow. I’d rather not discuss pricing through this forum. But I will say we are a well respected USA manufacture who are very competitive. Most products are sold through distribution dependent on quantity. For an even more experimental viewpoint, we also have a newly developed product that has PVPP built into the filter itself creating a cartridge that you can flow product through and gain a specific amount of absorption based on the time the product makes contact. The filters when used with beer can be regenerated over 150X using RO water and a nitric acid bath every 3 re generations. It would be interesting to see how this filter reacts and/or performs with extract.

FYI - We can achieve sub-micron filtration using polypropylene media. In some cases this is isn’t necessary but as this market expands and more competitive I predict that filtration will become a more relevant part of the process than it may already be.

submicron filtration is already an important part of the game. removing fungal spores requires it, removing absorbant fines would benefit from it.

my understanding is that polyproplyene (felt) shrinks in cold ethanol, do you have any data on that? say at -40C

In that case I would recommend a pleated SS fiber media. You would get better permeability than mesh and could still reuse the cartridges after going through a backwash or acid bath. We can achieve 99.9% efficiency down to 3 micron. Anything lower would require some special media (which can be done)
