Yes, I just make sure to rotate the slabs on their shelves so that the the fresh slabs are closer to the vacuum inlet (outlet? da hole dats suckin).
Yes! We also don’t like to do shatter anymore. It’s too much more labor. But some people ask for it.
We have 2 AI 7.5 ovens. One is the old model with 3 shelves. It is perfect for cracking muffins. We usually crack a muff in that one, then flip & fold, and move it to the 5 shelf oven. After the muffin, you can cram and jam them however you need. Does this make sense?
@midsfactory @terplord420 perfect sense thank you both
That’s a heap of flips in one day. How quickly do you guys degass the oven in like a 70 degree F room so as not to cause moisture on the top of the slab for when you flip it? That’s what usually slows me down. I also only flip 24 hours the first one then every 12 from 93-98 degrees over 5-7 days depending. I feel like I would get some sugar if I went 115 degrees but maybe less time in the oven negates that?
I turn the valve to “open” and walk away. Never seen moisture condense.
Trippy, my shop used to not be heated so I assume that was the issue lol. What temp is your room at?
I’ve only been at it 6 months, couldnt work out where the friggin water was coming from in my slabs … turned out ambient temp outside oven was too low … Now, once i’ve started my runs I turn on a heater in the room the oven’s at and make sure its heated to near what the ovens set for … I flip every 12 @ 84-94 degrees … from there it just depends on the thickness of my slabs …
Room temp is 65f. I’ve only seen this happen when my oven temp is at 200f+
Edit for clarity for future readers
Ya man, for months I’d get insta sugar after a flip in spots and sometimes the whole thing. Then someone said the cold to warm inside is getting condensation ontop the slab then I flip and its underneath. It bothered me for months and it was something so simple. I just have my room at 70 degrees and let the air in really slow but after seeing @midsfactory just let’s it in I’ll be saving time and doing that.
keep your ovens in a room with 70 pint dehumidifiers. im having our c1d2 purge room come with a c1d2 industrial desiccant dehumidifier; ive always done this for diamonds/honeycomb helps tremednously
Heh bud, just got one of the same chinese knockoff vac ovens and there was no directions or user manual in the crate, anyway to help me out with how to use this thing. everytime i think ive got it set right the damn thing just gose above what i thought was the set max temp
No it’s probably set to Celsius by default. You might not even be able to change it to Fahrenheit, so I suggest you get a chart a conversion chart and put it on the wall right next to the oven that’s what I did.
ya i can convert C to F thats not the issue when i set the PV and SV the PV goes above the (SV) Set Value of say 70 degrees i figured it would hit the SV of 70 then may fluctuate a degree or two up and down and power cycle off and on instead it just climbs made the mistake of going to pee came back and had some cooked Shatter lol
If I’m starting my vac oven cold, I usually will turn it on a couple hours before I start a run to let it heat up and equalize to the set temperature.
It will go above the temperature and then slowly go down till it stays at the set temperature.
Man, I tried you as many flips as you can do a day (basically) sop and it really works. Not that I doubted you I just cant believe how much time i have wasted lol. I don’t get it done in a day but literally half the time. Cheers to you!
Very silly.
Hey @midsfactory when you flip that many times in a day do you wait until all the bubbles pop or just break the muffin till theres some bubbles and then just flip it? I’ve found it takes time for the bubbles to all break so can only flip 2 or 3 times a day strain depending.
Basically is it worth waiting for all the bubbles to break or just break the muffin run the pump for like 45 mins and then flip even though theres still bubbles?!

For example you can see these arent totally flat but the muffin way way higher and has broken. Do you wait until its flat or just break the muffin vac awhile longer and flip? Since most of the solvent is leaving in the main muffin patches? Hope that question makes sense lol
The simple answer to your question is that I do NOT care if the bubbles have popped.
The long answer is that it depends.
The bubbles will for and pop differently with different biomass/strains. That’s just about the product’s viscosity.
The bubbles might not even be solvent. I’m sure that the bubbles eventually become other gas like air/co2/terp off gas.
I’d personally smoke a slab after a muffin, then one pull on each side (muffin + 2 flips).
Hey thanks man, I thought I was caring too much about all the bubbles popping before another flip. Basically just keep flipping till no muffin and test.
Appreciate it brother.
