Without using fresh frozen material is there any way to get a softer pliable bubble hash brick?
Im using the best screened material all <125 micron, it’s like 90% heads and after pressing it’s always a hard snappy rock at room temp. This stuff burns amazing, full melt no ash, but of course everyone wants a pliable brick they can crumble apart with their fingers to easily roll into a splif.
Can anyone share how they may have got a hard bubble or dry sift to turn into a more pliable hash.
The solution is in placing the made pressed brick inside a vacuum bag and then into a warm room or warm water at max 42C
Place the singel plates in warmth for 24 -72 hours the vacuum in the bag will break deu to off gassing of the terpenes and those that vaporized will be lost
But the accitic cannabinoids wil decarboxilate slowly and the solid thc-a at room temperature will become thc wich is a liquid at room temperature
Making your brick more pliable
If some prsssing was preformed on the plate
It will swell a bit most obviously on the largest surface area s of your brick
Once out of the warmth leave them rest inside a refrigerator 4C for another 24 then cut bag open
Cutting the bag open to soon will have more terps gas off
Good luck
Thanks @Roguelab, I have been doing that but at 35c and it had just not been making much difference. I’ll up it to 40c a few days and see how it works out.
Is there a look or consistency you can see through the vac bag when it’s time to pull it from the heat ?
It darkens a bit but main indicator is the swelling on front and back face of the brik
It must be pressed brok to show
Basicly the offgassing of terps and the co2 from decarboxilation should not be able to channel out but really expand inside the plate
I have had some interesting results with mixing in Rosin of different quality/consistency into kief with a range of quality(and/or age). It definitely made a more pliable hash brick than just from what the kief was forming alone. small batch experiments, adding 10-30% rosin by weight to the kief hash.
Very interested in what others think of this, I’d imagine its not something that is typically considered to do in Europe or largely outside of legal THC markets as this wouldn’t make much sense too do with such input material.
Rosin is great can make some pretty hash
Price point is hard to justify but defenatly non appealing rosin works wonders in hasj
Selection of kief pollen is crucial to be sure terp profiles mix wel terps from rosin with terps of kief that is
When working with rosin it makes sense to use washed down kief at approx 20/30% to compensate the additional fats and wax
And washed down helps in absorbing more oil
Making the 40% an option
The warming of plates will change consistency
From rock hard to pliable and every thing in between
It comes at a price terpenes are volitile some more than others but they evaporate the warmer the conditions are
By placing them in avacuumbag you take a way oxigen a known oxidizer
Some terps will evaporate off but will stay inside the vacuum bag as aresult the bag is filled with gaseous terpenes
Cooling down the bags between the warm cycles one can minimize this but it has risks
Re condensation makes terpene droplets
Wich in turn when touching the surface of your hash can make a spot but that is rare
And straindependend for you need terps with large low boiling point volume terpenes
I think about the heat-> consistency change of concentrates like tempering chocolate. Reach a temp level, maintain a temp for set amount of time to allow the “crystalline structure” to set across the entire material. I don’t know if its the same process here, but its translatable to things other than chocolate.
