Question for those with many years of experience growing, is this a common mutation or something i should nuture?

(Intention of isolating and breeding mutants)

(I can satisfy any curiosity/questions, i have this entire grow documented, this seedling was “odd” and the origin of creation moreso)

The seedling showed signs of active mutation initially, it was left to mature, the mutation first witnessed: random and sporadic purpling that was not uniform or whole with some sectioning (receded for over a month) and has now surfaced again.

Got too cold

Never exposed to less than 18°c from seedling.

This is also a maturing plant, nearing the end of vegetation.

Last i checked, 18°c is not near cold enough to trip it into purpling, yet alone sporadically.

That’s not cold cold. But far from ideal during veg. Could literally be a million things. Show some more mature leaves and the whole plants.

maybe top and leaf got wet and did not dry well.
could be sooty mold.

Depending… that’s the lows the greenhouse experiences, in my experience (in that of my mentors as well) nightly dips in temp are a form of natural low stress training and cause no harm, on top of that, 18°c as the ultimate low isn’t near enough to tinge a plant… i know my genetics and i know my climate… if the plant was frosted/temp shocked i wouldn’t be asking this question… simple as.

For sure, I’ll get some fresh photos tomorrow.

Not the case at all, this isn’t mold!

I had a few plants that did that same thing in veg. This is how they turned out. Pretty…

Wish I had earlier veg pictures but I can’t find any.

Sugar Sap, Day 60. Big ass sativa nugs that wanna go 70-75, gettin 3.5% rosin return at day 60 though. Sadly 86ing this one, just doesn’t smell/taste like much of anything.

Zawtz x Sundae driver #1(out of a 10 pack) decent washer, 3.7% at day 60.

#8 and #10 did well for flower. Here’s the #8

Here’s one of the sugar sap at day 75 too, just so yall can see what a bitch she is to work with. Old school sativa dominant for sure, still throwing white hairs even when the trichs are fully milky/amber.

Reminds me a lot of the growth structure of the OG Ghost Train Haze back in like 2013. The Ghost train is amazing though, whereas this sugar sap smells basically like nothing. Rosin comes out with a very subtle herbal/eucalyptus smell. Oh well, on to the next.

Definitely has that haze never will finish look the ghost train had. I love those old sativa strains

If only the amazing sativa high was there man. It’s this Mexican sativa called “the Ranger” that really overpowered the Citrus Sap in the cross. Not even a hint of citrus.

Honestly might grow a few beans Ghost Train Haze again just for stash. Such an uplifting high, and every time I’ve seen it in dispos, they never let it finish.

Can you recall if they did anything weird like this on the fingers of the fans during veg or was it always uniform purpling?

(The half/half seems bizzare to me)

Mine were wierd. It would purple tword the center of new growth, but then it would like grow it out, and then just the calyx would turn purple and a majority of the foliage was green. But they were pretty random tword the center. There was no real patterning. That one shot I posted was just like the best looking coloring out of all the plants.

Mostly Wilson x Strawguava outside. 2 straight papaya in the very front of the picture, to see how it compares to its offspring.

Straight papaya for comparison. Couldn’t tell ya what cut of papaya it is, just got handed to me by a local rosin maker.

Super serated leaves. Got Guava Z going as well, so 2 out of 4 grandparents of the Wilson Strawguava :pray:t3: I’ll post pics of that tomorrow

Edit- Here’s the Guava Z. It wouldn’t let me post more than 3 replies in a row, probably smart.
