I have the uv bars from gavita. I also like the mass medical supplement bars from rapid led.
Day 11 of flower, 23 days from rooted clone. Not sure what to do next run but I think the canopy is going to be over full again. I’m thinking maybe the single plant slabs so I can space them exactly how I want.
Looking awesome. Its on the full side but perfect for a heavy defoliation. Not sure if thats your jam or not.
I’ve grown the same strain under cmh and led. End results are different. Cmh has more frost and more terps. I prefer to finish under cmh now
If you’ve ever moved an indoor plant outside from leds , it’s the same look if you move them from LEDs to cmh inside. It’s hard to quantify but they look happier. This is anecdotal, mind you
Comparing my home grow to at the shop cmh for sure produces more frosty buds, but the hps yield is about double what I’m used to.
Does your led light have uv built into the spectrum? It is starting to be standard for higher end led lights to have uv and far red included in the diodes.
Have the led UV/infrared lights developed past the point of being a gimmick? I think initially they had such low output that it was essentially negligible, or am I mistaken?
That particular picture was taken from a run I knocked down today utilizing some 4 year old Kind K3 L600’s. For such old worn out lights there is not much more to say for me about LED’s and the no frost.
I do run some GC ROI e720’s with UV bars and I am stoked at the increase I am seeing in trich production…
This is a picture of some Bruce Banner that I ran on the first cycle with the 720’s + UV bars that I knocked down at the end of September and even though it is a shiddy picture I love the potential once I get them dialed in
This is what make LED amazing. You have real control over your light, and you get the benefits of both CMH and HPS.
I usually don’t turn on my supplement bars until well into flowering. About two days later it looks like Jack frost visited, huge difference. I am probably overdoing it, though. For one gavita 1700e, I have 4 supplement bars, each about 30 to 40 watts and totalling roughly 25% of the gavitas wattage. Those numbers may not be feasible for large scale growers.
For whats its worth I do like the uni-slad and for that reason, I can move them around and get the space I want. generally I run 5 or 6 per 4x4 area. I did 9 in per 4x4 are this time just to see what it would like, and i don’t like it at all for my style of growing my plants are like 4 feet+ and there way to compacted. We’ll see but I bet when its all done I’ll yield more with a couple less plants, with the same veg and flower time. uni-slabs are a bit more pricey though.
I started using Kessil H380 cob lights as replacements for my reptile bulbs in like 2015. I ran the Kessil h380’s starting with 400W HPS and then 315 CMH’s. As far as supplemental light, it has been “ready for market” longer than general LED lighting in my opinion. The costs were astronomical though, I think the H380’s ran me like $350 each and they covered like a 3x3 foot print. The cob style was nice though cause you could drop them between the HPS or CMH. I actually still run 2 of then till this day. They are one of the best supplemental light spectrums imo and it’s switchable. Literally takes care of everything a general lamp leaves behind sucks they stopped production and didn’t improve on the design.
This seedling from a pack of Plat-Chem X Mean Mug is seriously impressing me so far, love the structure she vegges quick and stem rub is A+++ cant wait to flower her out….
Wow! And already throwing 9 blade leaflets!
@island.genetics that’s a seedling?
Sounds like it’s been growing and he’s taking clones from it
