karma sour bx3 and chem d first two pictures are a day apart from the second two. been having issues with plant health lately thought I was going crazy never had issues with over feeding or having a healthy veg room. Was feeding at 1.8 ec and ph 5.8 to 6.0 and have been getting that tacoing, twisting slow growth on a bunch of different genetics couldn’t get the plants health on point no matter what I was doing finally I figured my nutrients were shit grabbed new ones feeding it at the same ec same ph a day later and they are looking significantly healthier

twisting leaves and weird coloring in the leaves… Mosaic Tobacco Virus???

ChemD and a lot of crosses has variegated leaves. (You will see it in other genetics as well) and to my knowledge Tobacco mosaic virus has never tested positive in cannabis…more likely to find hop latent viroid (HLVd) or the Lettuce chlorosis virus (LCV) in cannabis but all my genetics are clean it was a nutrient issue

Do you normally defoliate at all?

Pretty much every run for me I’m trying something different.

Last run I let the plants eat themselves. By week 4 there were a lot of yellowing fan leaves and I’d pick them off every few days so that was defoliating to some extent.

This run I have done zero defoliation on either of those plants besides trimming up the bottom branches, and mostly on QAR because DB is so bushy and squat.

Zero yellowing so far either because they’re getting plenty of nutes. I think in the next few weeks especially DB could use some defoliation. What do you think?

First time I run a new strain I usually leave everything so I can see how that strain develops its lower buds. Some strains defoliation helps the tops. Some strains your better off to get the solid little popcorn off the bottom instead.

I’d defoliate the first 25% for sure. Leave the rest to get a feel for her output is wise.

Hindsight from 2020
It shows the same signs of weird leaf color. Seems to go away and no other strains in the same system have shown signs. Didn’t seem to effect yield or quality but it is also only second run.

I only smoke flower for the most part. Which strain is your flower smoking friends favorite? I cant even judge concentrate because it all fucks me up. its like judging scotch- its not how drunk it gets you its all in the palate.

defol is weird. its vigor dependent. once you get the plant a rocking you can defol the fuck out of it and it just regrows the next day. Sing this to your garden and it will be decent buds Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - The House Is Rockin' - YouTube I got 2 garbage bags of my babyies defol to dump today Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - Pride And Joy (Live at Montreux 1982) - YouTube my plants did a huge secondary calyx blowout on top of the solid nugs. I shut down the co2 to 500 today and moved lights up. it looks like the buds might even grow together to become solid colas vs golfballs on stems.
