Shame ya missed out on them, I have a local that has been holding on to a cut of monkeyballs that produces great outdoor.

Monkey haze from Tom was the one for me. Pure deep chunk was usually a waste of time but in crosses it didn’t dominate, incredibly unique plants can be found.

It’s still around the pnw, I’ve seen it with 3 different local clone dudes out here in the last few years

Idk what it was but monkeyballs was something else to pure deep chunk. Monkey haze was great I’m just not a fan of haze usually. Definitely agree it’s a great strain for breeding projects, I’ve been trying to get matchmaker genetics to pop an old pack to try and find a male to cross with his Hawaiian strains

Have you ever tried tule haze? That one was a great one too.
It’s the same cross as monkey haze but with reverse sexes so female deep chunk male haze

I disagree. It was an improvement on classic Afghani genetics and was incredibly uniform and stable. It was the backbone of early to mid life cannabis breeding creating incredible hybrid vigor and increasing weight when combined with any sativa dominant strain.

Node and bud structure were always on point with dc with a remarkable high and terp profile to boot…but I can’t deny it lacked in resin production majority of the time. Bag appeal for dc was the smell not the shine imo

Definitely great breeding material, especially to sativas but pure it was slow, and pitiful yield.

I haven’t heard of that one. I grew out about 5 packs of the monkey haze and reversed my 3 best females for s1s and f2s. The monkey haze took some searching but a few standouts in the line.

I lost my old tree pics when I got divorced. I had some monster afghanis with huge colas outdoors. You just gotta keep pumping them with calcium and you won’t have that issue.

They were more difficult to trim, but when done right, they totally sparkle with bag appeal.

I think outdoors is where she was bred to shine, I haven’t had the opportunity unfortunately.

It was a cross tom did when he was still based in Cali before he partnered with the Spain crew

The Spain crew ended up doing the same cross a few years after Tom’s and called it monkey haze
