Just went out to double check . All plants in the immediate area either not in flower yet or in the first couple days . I have some plants in the yard that are about a week or two into flower but I’m hoping since there was only a few sacks that opened, no wind , plus rain will help it not spread to them that bad
We can speculate forever but until the plants mature you will not know. Best to isolate the plants you think might be pollinated and monitor them
sounds late in the year for plants to be barely into flower?
The pistols are like little straws that suck the pollen deep into the resin gland. Washing it off will do nothing but bad stress it. Grow it out, harvest the seeds and do a pheno hunt next summer. And remember the early warning signs for next time and be proactive.
”every macro picture of a pollen sack i have seen hasnt had more than 35-50 possible “sperm donors”
if one microscopic piece of pollen lands on your pot and it fertilizes its female counterpart, i am pretty sure you only get one seed per “piece” of pollen“
Found that on roll it up ? If this is true I will be fine . I appreciate the tip on not washing it that was a thought I had
I’m pretty good at removing seed if you end up wanting to process seedy bud, lmk if you want help.
Are you in Maine ?
Nope. I meant I can tell you how. I sold my seed cleaner and just do it by hand now.
Yea ur right , that was my concern before this concern . Hoping they will all flip any day now
But I think about 70 ish percent already flipped, but the majority of those just flipped in the last couple days . Some are already about two weeks in tho .
Lol Thanks but hopefully I won’t need the advise . According to what I quoted from roll it up I released a total of about 800 potential seeds into a garden of 100 plants . with the plants in the immediate area ( literally touching ) still in pre flower , or in the first couple days if flower . So maybe a plant or two will have a bunch of seeds, or maybe a few seeds per plant. Either way I should be good . Hopefully I learned a lesson tho !
Lol def not the case. A grain of pollen can pollinate every single gland on a branch. Shit is fine and suspended in the air and u def cannot see it with the naked eye.
Maybe it will just be a added benefit that I can seed hunt a gene line that excels in this harsh climate
Not according to roll it up Guess I’ll find out
Also another quote I put above says you can only get one seed from one stigma . And my plants are so early in flower ( most of them and all in the immediate area ) they only have like two stigmas per node . So I’m actually starting to think it might turn out to be a good thing
Back to the topic. We get it.
lmao back to the important stuff! warm and fuzzy pictures of ready to harvest weed nugs ! Enough of this boring intellectual driven discussion about the exact facts and numbers of seed production per pistil and per pollen sack …my bad I should have known this forum isn’t the place for that
You laughed at me when I offered you $10/seed for premium feminized seeds that finish early in Maine.
You said you don’t pay more than $3/seed and laughed. I guess all that money you saved on your discount seeds is doing you really good right now. Penny wise and pound foolish…
Lol the seeds I bought were fem and I bought them before I even made a account here . And if u payed any attention you d realizes I came to the conclusion without the help of this little rascals forum that I actually made the ideal number of seeds to hunt a few gene lines with out effecting quality ( or maybe sacrificing quality on a few plants but be able to use them for a small gene hunt ) . 800 max potential seeds spread between 100 plants ( 98 now ) .and I will obviously not get 100 percent pollination rate seeing as how I had ideal weather to stop pollination and the fact I was outdoors and not I a grow room . So I’m not worried about it . But I’m sorry that my comment on having a online source for cheaper seeds upset you
Thats absolutely not the case here, you asked if you’re gonna get a bunch of seeds or not, people gave you an opinion and you’re saying you disagree. This is a very far from a conversation that’s scientifically rigorous…
As has been mentioned a couple times above, it’s all speculation at this point one way or another. Not one thing said has been informative, besides never trust your fem seeds. But anyone should know that who’s been growing for any amount of time.
You wanna talk about that? Cool, you could make a new post though and not clog this one up.
