5 squidoos on CBC (or Cannabis-derived cutting agent if you’re full of yourself) + carotenoids
Side note - Exceptionally, repeatedly vindicated at work about this nonsense. Company I work for has been flirting with a hemp THCa isolate supplier and finally bit the bullet on a large order. Lo and Behold, it’s cloudy as fu*k once decarbed and insta-purps on contact with atmosphere when even slightly warm, yet no fats precipitate when dissolved in cold solvent.
Company still doesn’t believe me, but I guess I just work there lol
When we used to make our own Hemp D9, we put so much energy and care into drying our solvent, our CBD, ensuring a perfectly inert environment and then the THC distills a beautiful light gold but as soon as you break vacuum, everything turned purple. It was such a let down.
I think its important to note that HU-336 aka D9-THCQ is most likely that purple stuff.
I have conflicting sources regarding the psychoactive properties of HU-336, but it looks like its not directly psychoactive(maybe a metabolite?). I’m curious if covering up color is covering up bunk.
There are older threads which discuss great solutions for preventing discoloration in ultra-pure extracts that lack free-fatty acids.
There is also discoloration from manufacturers who produce sub-par products which may have PH imbalance, reagents, or catalyst left over in the oil. Its difficult to pin-point the problem in these chemical soups.
