Passive Recovery Time

I started using a dual coil system. One with 90/10 isopropyl and then from that into the next coil with 99.7% iso.

Moved away from acetone because it’s just to aggressive and the 99.7 seems to do the trick.
I just throw it out after 7 days of extracting

@Terpene_hunter dried mgso salts is good for making dry acetone. Very easy to dry out the salts to reuse as well

So you make a bath with the dry salt? That’s awesome! Does it work just as well as alcohol or acetone?

Just to be clear. I still haven seen any of these mythical passive recovery numbers IRL or a video. If anyone has at least a video, please post it.

I’ve tried it with alcohol idk how the results were though. I’m not sure of the mgso absorb alcohol as well. I was using old reclaim from my rig and decided to see what could be cleaned from it. I assumed the acetone I used had water in it as it wasn’t lab grade so I used the mgso and had great results as there wasn’t any water towards end of evaporation. I tried it with alcohol but I’m not sure how the result Were as I eventually let it evaporate in a freezer which I think ended up pulling moisture

That is gnarly, any idea on your recovery speed? Lbs per min?

That looks pretty neat.

Is it a basically a tube-in-shell but the shell is an open top jacket that you fill with DI/alcohol slurry?

Sounds like a great way to use CO2 with the high surface area tube-in-shell design. No need to pressurize the shell side and no problems with dry ice cloggage that can happen with LCO2.

What are we looking at?

sublimation of dry ice and the condensation of butane powered by the heat exchange and not a compressor

Got ya, but recovery rate? 6#/min?

20-25 lbs/min easy.
how many btu available for evaporation? it’s easy to add another condenser tower.

Thats insane. 25 lbs a min

Wtf 25 a min? You’ve gotta throw that on a scale and show us. Not calling you out but I’ve never heard of a speed of even 12 a min

200k btu is ~20lbs/min butane boiling
