Particle size analyzer

I’m looking to see if anyone on here has access to a particle size analyzer, I have some nanosizing R&D processes that id like to get quantified and verified-

I don’t have one but i know some universities are accepting tests on hemp projects now and have such equipment.

We plan on buying one in the future, but the good ones run $60k+ so it’s a bit more than we can justify right now…

Not really a particle size analyzer, but you can use it to measure particle size.

Hello Rowan, you can get units from thees people. We supply filtration products and some of these companies use our capsule filters for zero counting the machines prior to shipping or calibrating.

Anybody have recommendations for what brands/models to look for in the used market for particle size analysis to aid in the development of nano emulsified products? I’m a sucker for that fleaBay fixer upper on a steal and have been looking but curious what people prefer to run. Also curious what operating costs typically look like if anyone knows.

We’ve got one of these for our emulsion formulation:

It costs nothing to run really, cuvettes are your only consumable and some can be washed and reused.

Does anyone have any experience using the PSS Nicomp 380ZLS particle size analyzer for the purpose of measuring particle size in nanoemulsions? From my preliminary research on the unit it does seem to have a dynamic range of 0.5nm to 6um, but I would hate to buy it and it not end up working out. I just don’t currently have the funds for the fancy toys.

The thing I just noticed is that they can be outfitted with different lasers and different detectors, and I’m not sure if that would change its performance for my particular application.

I have an Izon PSA. I could do the work. DM me if you want help.

We use microtrac for 3rd party analytics.

Not sure if you are set on an in house system or not.

I will probably end up outsourcing it, but I was hoping to score a deal on an older used analyzer so that I could rapidly iterate on my surfactant formulation.

It would be awesome if I could pick the brain of someone that has experience with particle size analysis, preferably with experience with an older unit and could confirm whether the clapped out junk on ebay that I am looking to buy would work or not.

If I sold you my PSA, how much are you looking to spend? DM me.
