“Open source community water clean up for Ohio and beyond”

Would it be possible to distill large amounts of H20 to help those who need it efficiently?
Kinda fucked up that this is happening and I wanna get something started to help those who will be in need. (Crap that’s happening in the U.S)
People have parts laying around, we have solar energy, and ways to make the process efficient.

This is brilliant. What do you think of changing the title to “Open source community water clean up for Ohio and beyond”

Let’s also get some testing going.

@cyclopath how would you distill mass quantities of water with gear on hand?

@Photon_noir any adsorbents with an affinity for vinyl chloride?

We also need heaps of minerals and salts and such
And an organic way of alkalizing the water

I know a mineral guy @AgTonik

Depends what’s “on hand”.

Suggests blowing bubbles may be effective…

So a hydrocarbon recovery pump used as a bubbler in 55gal drum is the first thing that comes to mind

It would cost a little over 707,700$ to get everyone in East Palestine, OH (using I think 2021 census data for population) a water filter from Aliexpress, if the water filters were valued at 150$ each.

Just putting that out there.

Could get everyone dual pentek water filters.

That’s enough filter talk. Next idea :octopus:

What kind of water filters to get out the vinyl chloride

GAC, RO should get it done

Aeration systems modified with giant LPG recovery tanks and a few corkens. :octopus:

Perhaps this will become a new default failsafe in some way.

Future posted a link on Instagram to this guy that pulls water out if the air. I saw in the comments on ig he said it only pulls the h20 molecule so im assuming its a dehumidifier that pumps into a membrane of sorts.

http://micannco.com @DaWizKid and I have talked quite a bit about using microbes and fulvic acid for soil and water remediation especially in oil and chemical contamination.

Like loose monomer of PVC, @Sidco_Cat ? Gross, but yes, numerous adsorbents should work on it!

I would love to have a hand in this and get tests rolling on microbes and minerals vs the contaminants of vinyl chloride. What can I do to help

A dirt burning plant needs to be set up on the site. Pull up the tracks. Dig up the contaminated earth. Burn the trash out of it put it back in the hole. Send the bill to the rail company.

We are putting together a proposal to utilize this technology for water and microbiology for soil remediation in Ohio

If anyone has a contact in Ohio that wants to send me contaminated soil and water samples, please send them my way. I have 1 sample on the way to test geobacters effects on the spill. Looking to produce proof of concept.
