Hi, i have been searching around for a little bit and havent really seen any simple tests for sulfur in biomass except for the hot Etoh/copper method and was hoping for a better test.
I am considering mixing the biomass with distilled water and a sulfur water test kit to get a rough idea.
Not sure what materials you have on-hand but you could also use lead acetate paper. Fumes from a sample that contains sulfur will turn lead acetate paper dark brown or black, and then you take some hydrogen peroxide (about 3%V/V) and put a drop on the paper. It should turn from dark brown or black back to white.
