Oklahoma House votes to raise costs of commercial medical marijuana licenses

20 fold increase ($50k) for the top end grow license, 18 fold for the top end processing license. And they are making a last push this week at passing the prepackaging mandate.

Love it, Republicans always cunt on and on about lowering taxes and supporting small businesses but then in actuality its OOPS LOL U OWE ME 50K FOR GROWING PLANTS OR I KILL U ROFL. Nobody has stomped all over me trying to start a business like them. Bootstraps my ass.

Excellent news for the rest of the country, don’t really care how it affects Oklahoma farmers, as they have been instrumental in gutting the overall price point /quality nation wide.

Canvassers are collecting the sigs to get rec on the ballot rn. Plus there’s two other measures that want to write rec into the state constitution. So there’s that.

I wanna open a few alt accounts so I can like this more than once…

The farm bill is the actual culprit for “gutting” the market. And the year 2019, where the supply side was screaming “BUYERS DON’T SET PRICES” and eating waygu and lobster while cranking up prices. The reason cycles are so dramatic in the cannabis world is the lack of actual businessmen.

2021 showed that farmers and brokers could have been charging better numbers this entire time. OK and the Farm Bill killed out the guys that double up and spend the entire check, fronters, and local plugs that rely on local scarcity.

I dont know how people reconcile not believing me that fully legalizing will basically put every single person out of a job with the 2018 hemp act causing prices for CBD distillate to go from $3k to $250 in like 2 years. Its an easy to grow plant that requires little maintence, is literally ready to use right off the stems with 0 processing required, unlike every other drug, and a single plant can provide enough buds to last the average user for years. Your $3.5k D9 disty will only be worth like $100 on the legal market, if that. I can buy a pound of refined coconut oil for $9, how much do you think weed oil could possibly be really worth? I mean fuck, D8 is sold direct to consumer at 50 cents a gram, and thats a price crash against massive inflation. I can only imagine how cheap it would be now without the inflation.

The only companies that will be around will be concentrates and exotics, there will always be a buyer looking for premium bud or stuff like live resin, but for the general user smoking a spliff once every few days, well, $20 and they’re set for life. Mark my words, I know Im right on this.

Side note, I know people have qualms about isomers, but I do not miss paying my “plug” (I fucking hate the praise dealers get for dealing) $280 for an ounce of no name mids that are 11% thc. Fuck that shit, I’m never paying that much for bud again, the fake industry has fucked my asshole raw enough. I just want to sleep, reduce pains and take the edge off damnit.

there will certainly be a glut of cheap distillate and isolate, but outdoor flower is hard to do well. I can buy generic boof for 20 bucks an ounce, or I can get some outdoor that’s grown and cured properly from someone like Ananda farms in Oregon for 84-120 and be much happier

the first few years will just cull the farmers who have no idea what they’re doing and no market for their product outside of wholesale, Oregon proves that time and again

You’re in luck cuz the growers here in OK got us back to 1990’s zip prices, $50.

you think oklahoma’s flower is boof, wait till you see oklahoma corporate flower grown here.

I stand by my argument of the past on this, everyone getting upset that the real price of weed happened, it’s just a simple ag product like any other, glorified corn syrup makers, with a little more pride.

Once nationalized and there’s less and less scarcity, good luck with those 30-40-50/g. Think some are too high on the hog from the past that they forget we are marching towards the future. People are getting more intuitive, and it’s more available. This is an amazing time to be alive, there’s never been a time in human history where there was this much of an availability of cannabis products.

I recall 1000mg CBD bottles selling for 50-100-150 bucks… which, is grossly malfeasant, and immoral.

I wish there was a group around insulin like this, and we had that same set of complaints. I would at least rest knowing the world is a better place.

I also like to note that canna/hemp hedged inflation, which is absolutely incredible. An amazing shear force of will by a bunch of humans.

Regarding the price of the licenses, okay, neato, let’s all cheer as a state attempts to instate and repeat the issues that other more matured states have already failed at, and hold on to our preconceived notions of the past. Including criminalizing people still. :upside_down_face:
