Not sure how closely you guys monitor the quantity of tablets your son has but that may be option #3. Count how many are left from the date it was filled. If it’s missing exactly one then perhaps there is your answer. Not sure if it’s the type of medication that has no overlap in refills/taken everyday, etc but may help add to your case.
