You can also weld with two car batteries in series and some jump cables and ideally at least a stick welding lead to hold the filler metal. Fixing broken rigs on the trail is a skill you must have when you go wheeling in remote areas.

My dad modified a fridge compressor to be a vacuum and used it to boil out the lines on the HVAC system

If you get PVC pipe large enough to fit a log in there you could use a pump to rapidly dry the log and come away with higher quality timber.

My pops had a jeep back when that had that setup. The front bumper was made to be an air tank as well. He’d air down and before we’d need to air back up, he’d fire the compressor on and we’d get aired up right away. Was pretty effin nifty
