Cool, what kind of vacuum control do these use? What is all that powder on the last photo?
Looks like Frost to me. Curious if the frozen rubber would effect the seal for the vacuum.
Same thing a Harvest Right would do. They even have a big fat rubber gasket like these in the same spot. I’m assuming this is in a very humid area judging by how much frost is on there and likely without vac even being pulled since the door is open so the arrangement of the frost is much more chaotic and not even
Never seen my HR freeze over like that but given I am in a very dry climate. Good to know its not a problem!
Dry climate will not affect the use, on the contrary, the relative humidity of the environment needs to be less than 70% during use
The vacuum pump shown in the picture is a rotary vane vacuum pump that comes with our freeze dryer. The powder is actually frost.
The frost on the rubber ring in the picture is because we did not close the door panels during the test. Normal use will not affect the vacuum performance.
