New extraction facility buildout

In previous labs we ha e purchasdd a c1d1 room. Now we are building a C1D1 ourselves.

We will be running butane and also rosin.

This is how the current plans are laid out.

The lastsst adjustment is having a locker area for gowning up or down before entering the extraction space.

Probabaly going to increae rosin room side and descrese the quarantine area.

If we have left anythign out let me know.

Thanks

Do you guys have an idea about what closed loop extractor you are going to utilize?

Missing:

-air flow calculations and make up air system
-vapor detection and interlock into air handling system, alarms
-fire suppression system

Are you in California? I have an ETS system for cheap somewhere in stock. Gotta check on the model.

Thank you. This will be in oregon. Already have equipment thanks.

Oh nice. Hit ya boy up for solvents when the time comes, 630-346-7846

Oh, also good stuff on outfitting the C1D1 room yourselves you can save tens of thousands of dollars doing that! As long as you have an electrician and engineer to ensure compliance

If you want professional help from someone who has designed and built quite a few labs, feel free to send a DM.

Happy to offer my services.

Edit: I have some cheap turnkey systems that come with a booth and engineering documents for a very affordable price as well.

Getting a used UL certified C1D1 is not too expensive. You still need (at least one) PE to inspect and for installation, and for air handling systems. I am sure they have hundreds of used C1D1s in Medford for pennies on the dollar.

Didn’t realize there were so many used booths out there! I was gauging off new booths, shit goes for like 30k on the low end. Makes sense though labs go out of business all the time and sell it for half price

Last time I was up in Eureka, I saw a producer purchase three outdoor 20’ Conex-conversion C1D1s for $10k. They were in decent condition, and needed another $10k in parts/repairs. They got free vacuum ovens too for the low low price of “Can you get this shit out of here?”

Never underestimate the need for failed businesses to get some cash on hand.

My machine needs more cleaernace then most c1d1s so just going to buikd oht the room. It wont fit in a standard connex and needs 16 feet ideally.

I sold out last booth for 20k. But that one wouldnt fit in this building.

If I were you, I’d classify the space between Rosin and Quarantine room as C1D2 so your fire chief will be happy. Technically, your doorway swing zone can count, but I’d go further for custom buildouts.

Since when did UL create a listing for extraction booths? Last I heard they gave one provisionally to HAL but it was listed for paint booths

Those are literally the ones I’m talking about actually.

Are UL. Id wager most bigger c1d1 suppliers with turn key booths are UL
