I highly doubt butane is used in industrial caffeine extraction. Caffeine itself is quite polar are readily dissolves in polar solvents. Butane may extract a little, but your probably going to pull out more undesirables.
The carbonyl groups and tertiary amines are significantly sources of dipole moments that will make the molecule quite polar.
