Need ideas how to clean spill off floor

Hey guys, so my 20L rotoball was getting really dirty. I’m talking that gunk that sticks to all the sides of the ball and doesn’t come off with ethy. So finally, I got around to cleaning it. Distilled water and cranked the temp up to 100c and spun the ball for 20-30 min. Worked like a charm. So as I am lifting the ball to pour out all that gunk, my grip slipped and the ball shattered on the ground. The mess went every fucken where. In every corner of the room.

I ran out because my feet got burned from the hot water(I’m fine, aloe vera for the win), but when I came back, all that nasty gunk solidified all over my floors. I have been trying to clean but the gunk is too thick and is not coming off. I tried acetone, ethy, distilled water on my hands and knees, and it’s not even denting it. The only thing that works is taking a heat gun and melting the gunk and wiping it. However the spill is so large that this will take me over a week to clean at this rate.

I figured I can’t be the first to have this happen to me. Is there something I can go get at home depot or mix together to scrub my floors? Or is heat gunning 1 spot at a time my only hope? Floors are epoxy.

Appreciate any help. Thanks

sounds like one for the MSPGA, sorry this happened too you and glad to hear you didnt get hurt.

the water soluble gunk that was on the inside of your flask should be soluble under the same conditions out side of the flask. hot water and a putty knife should do the trick, itll take alot of work but you should be able to pour hot water on the ground then scrape off the gunk with the knife. could always pressure wash it too xD but probably best not too unless your facility is set up for wash downs, with drains and what not.

I made this mistake too. Heat gun and elbow grease. It’s a good job for a young lad.

I would duck tape the edges and give it a wash with water and like 10 dishwasher tablets in it disolved let it soak for a while then scrape off
Good luck :+1:

Simple Green might be worth a shot. There are also household cleaning devices, steamers, that look like a small vacuum but spit out steam. These are just guesses. Good luck.

Orange Clean or Gojo and a nylon scrub brush. Even better if you have a nylon drill brush.

Worst case… people will hate this… brake cleaner.

I’ve used dry Ice and chipped it off cement, then quickly swept it up.

it thaws fast, and if you send chunks flying they will thaw and stick on landing.

probably only 2-3kg. had a 5gal bucket blow as it was sitting on the scale. it was still busy decarbing when it was sealed in there.

chipping it off the cement worked great. chipping it off the scale was more messy because of the diamond plate…and my shoes have never been the same.
