Need help wiring a three phase control box for centrifuge!

I have this three phase control box with no directions. Can anyone help me with the power in and power out to centrifuge location?

Not an electrician.

U/V/W are out to the motor.

If you don’t like the direction it rotates, swap any pair

AC goes to the wall. Looks like it might say single phase. Not certain.

They guy I bought it from had it hooked up to a three phase converter and the centrifuge says three phrase

Thanks @cyclopath

What I can’t tell is if it needs 3phase in.

Some Drives can handle either single or 3phase.

Pulling the grey cover off the cable trays might be informative

Primary Rotation direction might be important, depending on how things are attached.

Spinning clockwise is traditional, paired with a reverse threaded nut to hold the rotor down.

I’ve had a rotor get loose…which surprisingly wasn’t as scary as the panda that came at me today.

@cyclopath so I wired the first group rst with 3 phase and I got the top control panel to work, bot not the touch screen or the power lights. I’m assuming that the second group is to the centrifuge. So I have all the connections on the right but I’m a little scared to

other than the hole you’re taking the wires out looks like it’s meant to have a fan in it…

there really should be a dedicated exit with strain relief for the two sets of wires.
which means drilling a hole and installing a cable gland.

often, making those penetrations is left to the electrician performing the install.

…because the most convenient spot the for the wires to exit is often install specific.

…at which point you get someone who can run a multi-meter in to figure it out.

I can’t vouch for your electrician, but the last couple I’ve called in have had zero problems with the logic contained in similar nests of wires.

the touch screen is likely 24 volts. so tracking down the transformer that achieves that, and making sure it’s getting what it needs is the next step.

While the color of the conductor does not change electrical functionality, it is bad form to use the green wire traditionally reserved for ground to carry current if anybody else is going to be touching the device. Even just taping the end to indicate it’s not actually ā€œgroundā€ goes a long way.

My advice would be to get a pro in.

Or at least show us how your incoming AC is attached at the other end…

For three phase, red, black, white is traditional. Although 3x black is common as well.

Where is that green wire going on the fuge end?

I got it! It was an easy fix R and T was 220 and UVW went to the centrifuge no 3 phase. Thanks for the help I’ll get the right wires and colors for everything and clean up the wiring.

Single phase in, 3-phase out.

Fuge is 3-phase
