According to @cyclopath my gadgets are fancy The temp gun is a low budge solution and I have played with them. As long as you arenāt trying to shoot the temp across the room it works. Just put it up to whatever you are trying to get a reading on. DISCLAIMER: they are not C1D1 rated so pull the trigger at your own discretion.
Use a Fluke, or that reading might be
We got the harbor freight ones with dual probes for $50. Cant beat em for budget process managment
They work just fine. The only reason I really went fancy was to be able to read down to -180c.

Okay guys, fast forward a few weeks and Iāve been having good results with a magnetic stirrer, but I learned about homogenizers. And I really want to invest into one now. Better for edibles, carts, just everything overall. Question is Iām looking into a CatScientific, and Iām wondering if thatās the only brand out there that can do the job?
Ive had nothing but great experiences with @CATScientific customer support and their homogenizers I own the x1000 and x1750
Which one are you considering
Iām looking at the x1000d, do the shafts come along with it? Or is that purchased separately
Edit: Also is it possible for the Homogenizer to produce bubbles in the distillate? Iāve seen videos of them in use and it seems like it would. Also should you keep the distillate on a hot plate while mixing or how do you keep the solution warm?
yes bubbles may form. You just put it back on the hotplate for a bit and the bubbles will rise out of the oil.
yes everything comes with it. Stand, machine with the tips. I would talk to Steve at Catsci and see which size he recommends for distillate / terps I know there are different rotors suited better for different viscosityās
and yes its going to make the solution very different looking but the air bubbles / cloudyness will come out with some minor stirring as mentioned above
if he doesnt reply here his email is steve.gold@catscientific.com
Ebay, I got a really nice used used one for $30. Itās easy over $250 new. Just keep your eye out and make offers.
I got this in today, ordered from Amazon Canada believe it or not, it should be better then the Amazon waste of time I had before.
I picked this up for 50 on eBay. $700 new. It was listed as unknown condition. It gave an error but i took it apart. Cleaned some connections that looked to have had some acid spill on them and now itās as good as new.
If I can suggest anything itās that you buy a reputable name brand used (old is fine) over some new Chinese cheap amazon option.
The biggest difference will be the magnet size and strength. Itās a night and day difference.
I got a vwr 4x4 ceramic Im not sure its much better than an amazon one but it should last much longer.
Thatās nice!
I need another one too. Might try to snag a used corning or similar one on ebay
If youāre going used, go high end. Heidolph is very nice. For the stir bar, spend the $100 on this guy āSP Bel-Art | Fluted Octagonal Rare Earth Spinbar Magnetic Stirring Bar | SP Bel-Artā SP Bel-Art | Fluted Octagonal Rare Earth Spinbar Magnetic Stirring Bar | SP Bel-Art
