N2 push

So starting with 20# solvent at room temperature. Going through coil in dry ice into 4”x48” matieral column with 4# matieral in it. 12x12 collection pot on dry ice. Losing about 4.5# solvent each run. This seems to high to me. Trying a n2 push after solvent tank is almost empty but not getting much better recovery weights. An I heard if you use a n2 push from the start you don’t need dry ice on collection pot at all? Any thoughts on that? Also bleeding n2 off and disconnecting collection from matieral tube. Should I leave that together an recover n2 an bleed off after from recovery tank

yep. losing more than 20% of your solvent should be considered high.

I suggest starting here.
