Mystery compound in cbg extract... Any ideas?

Been extracting and distilling at my facility here in Kansas for a couple years. Recently we extracted a large lot of the “white” strain of cbg. plants were heavily seeded and not very potent but client wanted to go ahead and take to distillate. We now have 150 kgs of distillate that cant be identified with current testing. Both by Botanacor and Green Scientific. We have gotten potency results from 30% to 39% and done multiple tests. I dont believe these results to be accurate. The material was extracted and distilled under the same parameters that generally yield a 77% + distillate. It crystallizes very quickly and looks to be of very high quality, however no proper Id has been made (in my op) on what this is??? Any Ideas would be appreciated

Normally being cbd?

No, we have diff parameters. They’re very similar however. Not our first cbg extraction.

You’re gonna need to share some of those to get some help.

Pope 6" wiper, terp pull at 130 external and 25 internal vacuum at 3 torr . Main pass at 175 external and 70 internal vac at 150MT. crude was not tested.

Extraction parameters?

4000 psi SC c02 60 minute runs. not leaving anything behind

Did those seeds get broke open while milling?

Where was this material grown? Was it around any fires? Perhaps fire retardant contamination lead to unforeseen isomerization? Any hits for CBC? Ask for a chromatgram; is there a large mystery peak eluting? Or is it “sawtooth” with a really nasty looking spectra and peaks everywhere?

yes they did, we did a good job of winterization though, its just wild that it becomes crystal very freely. My first thought was seed oil as well but my gut is telling me its not

No it was Nebraska grown. I’ve requested the chromatograms haven’t received yet .

Witerization isn’t going to remove seed oil and I’m pretty sure a “leave nothing behind” co2 extraction is gonna pull it, but I could be wrong.

Im sure it pulled the seed oil. whats your email id like to send you a pic. for some reason i can never get them to copy right onto the forum.

Anybody know what the lower threshold for CBG crystallization is? Let’s say swimming around in a bunch of seed oil and some terps?

I’ve only ever seen this with very poor THC trim. The crop had been heavily seeded and then milled. The hemp oil from the seeds reduced our normal 92%+ second pass distillate to around 45%. Viscosity was way off as well.

From what i’ve seen CBG will always crystallize anywhere upwards of 50%, and wouldn’t shock me at all if it fell out at even lower concentrations. CBG crystallizes at room temp so readily its a pain in the ass haha

No experience but I imagine LLE into methanol from heptane would work sort of like cleaning MCT out of your product

We’ve had similar issues with CO2 extracted “White” CBG. Lower pressure SC 1200psi… Potency only 55% with D9 upwards of 5%.

Still crystalized easily but no answer for the low numbers. Other CBG strains have no issues reaching 75%+.

Winterization does indeed remove hemp seed oil.

At least in my experience- removing a bunch of hemp seed oil from isolate that was being sold as fake T free distillate-

I have pictures somewhere, posted em here a little less than a year ago

That’s what I found slightly odd about my results. I have done many other strains of cbg and had no problem reaching 75%+ as well. Did your 55% disty solidify? I’m really still thinking there is something i’m missing. there’s absolutely no liquid left, solid as a rock after 12 hours. but good cbg should be.
