Btw, big shout out to Glacier Tanksā customer service. I had a 4x36ā jacketed column arrived damaged:

Been curious with collections like these, whatās the purpose of having a separate vessel underneath the collection column? Are you controlling that temperature separately or something, why not just pour directly from the bottom lid?

Same temp as the collection. Same heater. And it speeds up the end of the process.

In what way?
The last few inches of the column has no jacket so even without the sight glass and a flat end cap youād end up with a cold puddle at the bottom from evaporative cooling

Thatās a rule for any rotating equipment. Nitrile gloves are different as they wonāt suck your hand inā¦
