Yeah, I used to do Roms professionally as a team. Cyanogen/Droidmod days. I’m 10 years out of date on configuration but have made it a hobby again and will be going through the process in my spare time.
People don’t realize Custom Roms/OS for phones are paid for. Configurations. Tools. Labor involved in providing a convenience for others.

Have you seen the amount of sheer documentation on the GrapheneOS website? It would literally take me a week to read all of it, that/those guys know what they talking about.

But now, changing some settings on the OS would make it even more secure. And worth a markup.

It’s not about graphene itself but how the code is configured. A poorly setup security solution is at the end of the day much worse then no security.

Having default settings made by the actual devs would be much worst than having no security?

How much is it in price, what’s the ram, what’s the rom, what’s the camera specs, what’s the audio drivers, is it 5G, is it eSim only, is it unlocked GSM does it have 5G wifi does it Bluetooth 5.1 what’s the weight of the device, is it a tough phone or minimalist like the nothing phone.

As much as you can trust grapheneos and the dude who created Samsung Knox and a former US GM at Samsung. Meaning that on top of all the ways I can verify for myself, there are big names behind this one.

This. Could care less what he’s shilling, but all it takes is MLABs to do some dumb shit (not unlike tech companies) and it will tarnish his reputation. That is, unless Sidco has stake in the company. At that point, I believe it should be disclosed, if so.

And I also want to make it known that I’m not against monetization of the platform. Many users get massive business benefit from being a member here, but it doesn’t seem that the platform generates too awful much compared to the upkeep and work keeping it running.
