Micro Scale CBD ethanol extraction help wanted

Hi all, i was wondering if the forum could point me in the right direction. i have about a half acre of CBD coming down this year, and was looking into processing it into crude myself to make full spectrum salves and capsules. what size rotovap should i be looking at? would a 2L or 5L vessel be a good size for running 3-5 lbs of biomass at a time?

If the price diff isn’t much, get yourself a 50l.

You’re gonna wanna “dunk” as much at once as u can. 3-5lb batches is gunna suckkk.

Look into some stainless drums and get like 100g of etoh, a few pandas and some bubble bags and you can knock out 250lbs a day easily. Your solvent recovery for that is gonna take a few days in a cheap 50 though so keep that in mind

China has really affordable centrifuges and chillers

Then there is the panda tek people do here with salad spinners.

Get the most evaporator you can afford as that will be your bottle neck

No, but a 5gal bucket works.

it takes about a gallon of solvent to “cover” a lb of biomass in a bucket.

it takes about a liter to extract the goodies.

if you haven’t read Bucket Tek (Cold Ethanol Extraction on a Budget) yet, you should.

is solid advice…but a rotovap is not necessarily the correct tool.

see: Who is king of EToH Recovery? for instance.
