What are everyone’s opinion on stacking versus mixing media types? I am only using silica and B80.

Stack it on top each other…some have mixed it for close to same results but I’ve always like stacking it. Then when I take it apart I can see what color bands are in what layer

I’ve never heard of packing a column other than one ingredient at a time (stacking).
I thought mixing would interfere with the sieving process of running through finer and finer materials.
Still interested if certain ones could simply be mixed. Someone here certainly would jump on pre-packaging two and three powder formulas.

Certain ones can be premixed…I’m pretty sure lustermax is premixed w bentonite and a lil silica and I’ve heard one of chemteks powders is premixed
