We get a ton of spam for these & there is a need for some place for discussion or trusted vendors.

We could just nuke bottle service in my opinion. It’s a huge source of spam.
The site was never meant to be a sales platform in the first place.
Should we ban the sales of bottles from China?

Sure seemed that’s exactly what it was meant for. Sell GLG memberships.
This brought a ton of eyes on future which in turn allowed him to create an event service business.

I think that this site would have gone the way of ICmag, mycotopia, and many others if it wasn’t for the B2B aspect that can be admittedly annoying at times.
Thank goodness for the wayback machine.

I think anyone selling things on a platform should pay to use said platform.
The forum administration has been exceptionally generous to a lot of these venders.
On the other hand- I hate ads. Sites that are flooded with ads/popups are tasteless and more annoying than the vender spam.
I liked the concept of “hemp slanger” tags for hemp/cbd sales. Its difficult to enforce, but I think any sales posts need some sort of tag and payment system that compensate forum administrators for their time, expertise, and expenses.
I think its acceptable if a company is selling off their equipment or inventory in a one-off post, but if a company is using the forum as a free billboard without contributing or adding to the exchange in knowledge… they gotta pay.
Also- I have bigger issue with AI posts and the looming threat AI ads flooding everywhere. I think its a higher priority to address AI slop.
