Sorry listed the Feed flow as well as probably the wrong class, as I understand it the 280 and s600 are probably more suited for butane vs the types I listed, the flow is half at 150L/hour for them. My bad!
exactly, stacking 1812’s has got to be the best option for <10lb cls, no?
Thats the flow that you want it fed at
Not permeation rate

I’m sure y’all will make a great collab on some big energy faucets & filtration for crx.
still we’re talking about small runs of 100-500g of bho oil, so 2L-10L of solution.
Restrictive flow rates to keep retention times proper & saturated through out the surface area of the membrane to keep efficiency at peak ![]()
Are we talking about solvent recovery or winterization?
My solvent seperation membrane does 2.5 L an hour its a 150-300 and an 1812
Different size/type of filter, as I understand it for solvent recovery you need to go further to the RO level vs Nano
No, keep the solution moving so you do not foul your membranes especially if you’re winterizing
Were at 600 psi + shit will force its way through the membrane if it sits there
You want to let things flow through it that want to
Im running at 3 gpm on my 1812
Why not both
Can you clarify your numbers? is the 150-300 your oil yield ?
We didn’t have good luck with ceramics
Spirals have way more surface area then a ceramic
Ceramics are tubular
I had 4040s and they topped out at 25lph throughput. That was with ethanol and methanol.
Then you can just do solvent recovery, you just want you winterization side twice as big as your solvent recovery when doing membrane
Just because it’s saturated doesn’t mean constant flow isn’t happening. If the system is looped then yes of course, but also pushing 600 psi wouldn’t you have to have a, not restriction but rate at which it will strip what you need ergo, going to fast means you need restriction to slow the rate of which it will pass. Even though it’s at 600psi, working through something ( now I’m no expert on them let alone used one myself besides for commercial ro systems) but if you don’t have a membrane specified for what you’re looking to do then the strip or remove, them wouldn’t you change up to a different variation whether it’s restricted or different make up?
A 4040 is about 21x the surface area of a 1812
You use a valve to create pressure
The pump is so strong even through you restrict the flow it flows at the same rate, that’s what creates the pressure in the system
You can control the pour size of the membrane through pressure, the more pressure the smaller the membranes pour size
The key with membranes is finding the perfect pressure for perfect pore size then scaling that system
Each process is different with different flow rates based on membrane size and processes which is why I asked which one you were talking
See now that it’s explained like that it’s more simple than the new K.I.S.S filler from Anthony.
So then basically the membrane is manipulat3d for the procedure due to the psi your pushing, sounds like the co2 fam needs to hop in on membrane skids & just kill some super fire c02d gas expansion tek for a ridiculously clear product of terps.
Im definitely most interested in winterization ahead of solvent recovery, though both are interesting. The cost of dry ice or chiller electricity is my main motivating factor.
Basically if I can get 500ml-1L(100-200g of oil/solute) of final winterized permeate in 1 hour I’ll be happy.
Damn 6 edits. I see I hit a nerve
Talk about salt… looks like you served up some extra salt. That’s ok I can use a little more salt in my diet.
