Hi everyone, i have a question, about QWET.
In some locations its hard to get smokable product, so people smoke QWET and RSO.
I have 2 questions.
1 How bad is it to smoke QWET or RSO? (unwinterized, undistilled)
My logic behind it - is that ppl smoke bud, which is worse in health term (extraction, no grass, no flame or smoke ext.). And smoking QWET if its purged is less harmful.
2 Should it be better to use Heptane? Less junk, not much higher BP than isoprop, non-polar (this one i’m almost sure)
IMO heptane seems to require a little more aggressive/meticulous solvent removal methods compared to Ethanol. (Maybe not, but how I look at it is being that heptane is toxic there is no margin for error on your solvent removal and should also be tested for residual to confirm)
I also think in the aspect of it needing a more aggressive purge will result in lower quality extract (if flavor is a factor)
But I haven’t extracted with heptane only, I use it for isolation etc. and I would not be surprised if there were cool terp preservation tricks im not familiar with.
About “not wanting to huff that”
Here’s my logic - if someone smoke weed-bud. There’s already lots of those fats and waxes. So is it really that bad? I get that it’s not something good either… But is “that” bad?
I understand that this way it’ll concentrate, but still.
Making sure you have a pleasurable smoking experience should be a priority as well if you’re not just out to get high.
Are you actually extracting nugs you would smoke? Or are you extracting trim that you wouldn’t even put in a joint? The latter is definitely going to want some clean up…
