Any methods either conventional or non conventional for removing THC and or THCa?
This is small scale. I have 200g of 30% CBD - 0.7% THC crude per batch which I winterize, decarb and do a carbon & DE wash. Awaiting lab results as we speak so i’ll update the CBD & THC levels asap.
I need to reduce the THC and or THCa (before decarb) as much as I can without having to buy expensive chromatography equipment or go the crystallization route. I know its not going to be perfect and that’s fine, I’m not expecting total THC remediation even losing 0.5% would be great.
Is there any other options? I read a lot on here but usually people want to preserve as much THC as possible. So is there anything you avoid doing because it could cause a decrease in THC?
This is what I’ve heard/read so far:
- Crystallize CBD from the mother. Remove THC using chromatography. Put CBD back. = ‘Broad spectrum’
- SPD could work but its unlikely to be very efficient .
- Changing the acidity? Citric acid?
- Charcoal washes can remove some THCa?
Am I missing something and this is actually a really simple thing to do?
I have a 2L mantle, vacuum pump, filtration and a vacuum oven.
Cheers.
