Yes. I only use DCM. Other solvents might work as well, but I never used another because DCM was a straight hit

I assume that running the reaction so cold keeps the DCM from a reflux?

Yes no reflux happening
For your at temperatures below bp of solvent

How is everyone neutralizing the alcl3? Im assuming you guys are using sodium carbonate straight into the reaction then water washing to correct PH?

Bump!

Everyone on the alcl3 route…
No one is looking for tiba anymore
I hope alcl3 dont get to shortage in supply like tiba
:grinning:

I mean AlCl3 is an industrial wastewater treatment chemical. I highly doubt it’s going to have shortages when its used in bulk water clarification already:

Aluminum chloride is the coagulant of choice for many industrial and sanitary wastewater treatment applications , due to its high efficiency, effectiveness in clarification, and utility as a sludge dewatering agent. The chemical leaves no residual color and offers very good turbidity removal.

It was a joke😀

We have used 3 different solvents. All are effective. The only thing that really changes is the location of organic phase during washing.

There are two SOPs circulating around Labworks…which is effective. that is also the one rogue lab is using. I know this because Labwork and I worked on the initial SOP together. They are the only ones we trusted completely and Rogue got it from them. This SOP is cheaper…but it works. That was our R&D SOP. Takes about 4 hours. Then you have ours…which takes about an hour and 30 minutes. Its a more expensive SOP but production is doubled by 100% and before anyone starts being upset because I know those are two well respected members…who also have my respect I have a complete paper trail as well. We also use this to take CBDA to THCA and then REX with about a 60% yield by finished weight.

I was able to make d9 and d8 using the ILLNYC SOP. I have no idea why one reaction was high d8 and another high d9. I’m assuming it had something to do with the numerology of the date I made the conversion.

Huh ??

I ll yust leave this here 2021 and search for the conversations in 2020 when I started on the alcl3 quest

:sob: ok. Great job! Real proud of you. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

If anything I never got a 94% conversion using alcl3 to thc D9 so all credit to you
(Althou a chromatogram to prove it would be nice) not a TLC plate !!
But to state that I got the sop from members of this forum or anyone for that matter is FALSE and it s most likely the other way around

I have all the r and d documented so I can really show a papertrail from start 2020 november to today

Would love to see your papertrail of proof :face_with_monocle:

I just wanna say thank you to @Roguelab for pushing me to wanna research it for myself as well. Without you this one would have slipped through the white papers. :call_me_hand:t3::call_me_hand:t3::handshake:t3:

My work up will not be open sourced out of respect for the others who are also utilizing one that is similar. But it’s open for discussion.

No need @Roguelab wouldn’t help you, wouldn’t help me. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I don’t like to be hurt either.

Respect for one another goes a long way, let’s just say that.
