Live Resin SCC02 Advice?

Hello all! I’ve been doing some research over the last few days about running live resin c02 (Fresh frozen) I have done some digging thru this forum and have read ExTek90s post on C02 Crystallization, but am curious about a few things including the input material used.
I run an Eden Fx-2 20l That is only capable of achieving 125-130bar (2000psi max, don’t like to push it past 1800) and am not 100% sure on how successful any crystallization will be at those pressures.

Also regarding running fresh frozen material, My proccess for C02 involves decarbing in a vac oven prior to extraction, thus converting most of the THC-A to THC and clearly not making it very easy to get any crystallization. Am I correct in assuming that if I got fresh frozen it would need to be “freeze dried” fresh frozen? Otherwise it would need to be decarbed (and then kinda defeating the whole fresh frozen thing) prior to extraction to avoid a watery mess during extraction? Would decarbed fresh frozen still produce a Live Resin C02 sauce? Or am I just shooting myself in the foot? (I’m using a mechanical cold trap to pull terps during decarb so plan to also play with reintroducing terps into Decarbed Live Resin c02 pulls)

I’m supposed to be getting some fresh frozen material in the next few weeks to play with and will keep this thread updated with my experiences. Oh & Happy Holidays!

Yes, a freeze dryer would be your friend.

Do you think you will be able to keep your biomass fresh and frozen after trying to decarb it? I have tried doing live resin undecarbed, a big issue you run into is the excessive moisture. Might be better to do a subcritical run as water content will be less soluble, and if you leave the terps intact, will go for a fire extract.

if you decarb it you’re only going to be able to crystallize cbd

@BainbridgeLabTech I imagine sticking frozen weed in an oven would ruin it. Skip the decarb, thc will not crystalize and decarbed cold trap terps are terrible.

I say hook up your chiller lines to your extraction vessel and full send it bro!

Haha oh yeah I forgot to mention that too, if you haven’t tried running the chiller for the accumulator into the extraction vessel jacket as well, try that out. You can get some very fun results running a range of pressures at low temperatures, if you are already experimenting with things.

I wish I still had time to do R&D runs, looking forward to seeing what you get out of that incoming material!
