Lets talk Cloning!

How long does it take usually?

5-7 days

its all in the cloning gel

ive tried powder liquid and gel and clonex purple is the best for me.

I dont just cut the ends on a 45 I put them in my mouth and chew them to a pulpy mess.
dip end into gel then put in cube that is split in half to halfway down the cube.

a little superthrive and a 100pmm grow nuetrient mix to dip the rockwool cube in.

then into the cloner which is a plastic tube with a flat cover with holes in it to take cups

then I put a clear dome over the top with ports I can open to make a humid environment but
not too much.

you want the clear dome to be misty but not huge water droplets.

I put a water heater in the bottom of the tub with water and a little peroxide to stop mold.

the heater is set to 28C.

never a failure.

I used to do super low budget, vermiculite in small cups on a bed of hydrated perlite in a tub. It’s like the PF tek for clones. Success rate isn’t great, but I didn’t need to buy anything. I switched to root riots recently and have had much better luck.

Ya know, in case anyone needs a guide on what not to do

7 days is my record for a full set of roots ready to transplant. Only 1 strain, darlins net will do this.

4.95 rooting powder from lowes/HD. Active ingredients is indolexxxx. Same as clonex and others. But mines much cheaper.

I can get decent roots in 10 days with that same stuff and root riot plugs. That’s fast though, usually it’s the full 14 days and then can go into pots.

Little trick instead of a full clean for a h2o change. Use a shop vac, suck up the water, replace with fresh water. This isnt a full sanitize clean, but a way to get a weeks run with good water.

indole butric acid its in all cloning mixes I have seen.

not easy to cook dmt from though if only it was indole propionic acid or
indole acetic acid.

I picked up Hormex rooting powder #8 and #16 because they specified Hemp(canna) on the label.

Sounds like they are not getting the right amount of auxin (rooting hormone) and/or they are too stressed out.

Plant root initiation is, in part, a function of the balance of two plant hormones: auxin & cytokinin. Cytokinin levels being way out of whack will throw off the auxin:cytokinin ratio, which will also prevent root initiation.

I ordered the cloner king you were talking about. I think I got the 36 but whatever. Should all work the same.
Im pretty excited to see results ive had about a 50/50 success rate so far With out this machine.
My only question is if the misting washes away the rooting hormone? Im not sure what all gets sprayed or how the machine operates.
Thanks for the info.

That’s awesome I have never heard of using aloe. I have like 15 plants around the house that I can use.

That 36 site keeps those cuttings super close together amd chokes some of them out. Resulting in some that wont root, or take longer to root than normal.

The powder gets washed off a bit, yes. But it mixes with the cloner water. So when the misters are spraying, it’s a rooting powder/water mix.

Damn it! I shoulda wrote you before I bought it. Good thing I didnt get the 64 lol
What light do you run? I have a single optid Led COB 5000k that I keep about 3feet away.
Any suggestions on lights and distance?

The cloners get a 4’ 4 bulb t8 4k led.
18/6

For the 36, you only get neoprene pucks, no baskets. Just skip every other one to leave a bit of space

@Demontrich I originally used gels but like you, I found the root powder from HD works much better. I have found some strains are much more difficult and when cloning mothers that are from seed even the different phenos can make a big difference. IMO there are many more right ways than wrong ways… just depends on the environmental conditions such as the water, temp, humidity. I am on a community well that has significant iron levels and some stains don’t appreciate the high iron… easy fix… bought a whole house purification unit and the problem is solved

even farther om the ligbt is better as they dont need much light to root.

I tried out the Cloner king 36. Got the RH from home depot. Followed all instructions… 2 weeks later nothing.

I read about yalls posts on the cycle timers and temp. My water was about 85-87. Too hot.
I got a timer brought them in my extra room. Temp hovered around 74. A week and a half later. Still nothing.
Finally I checked the ph again and it was wayy out. 7.8.
I got that back on track and 2 days after all that i got small roots coming out of half the plants.
Im pretty stoked about that. After buying the timer and no results i almost threw the cloner away. But after 4 weeks the trimmings were still looking healthy.
My experience, its a very touchy system,if everything is not dialed in nothing happens. BUT i maybe spent 4-5hrs total over that month on the clones total. And I have roots.
My second go round will be wayy easier. A little persistence and a few **** words. I got em going!!
I would recommend this way of cloning to others. Its easy and fast. If u know what your doing, i was able to do it with just the advice from this thread.
Hella happy
Thamks demon & every one else for the knowledge and tips
