Let’s talk silica

Bulletproof Si from cutting edge solutions is my go to. It is 5%. One difference between that and Power Si is that power does not raise ph and Bulletproof can make ph go up quite a few points so it needs more attention if using it in a resovoir.

Silicone dioxide.

I apologize for my ignorance. Is it not as effective as the main ingrediant in power si which looks to be silicic acid or are they two totally differently used products?

Osa28 yrs back was the best silica I tried. I tested 5 brands against each other. But osa28 was super expensive. Power si, i got a free sample from them, it was a jello like consistency, and was ghosted when i asked them about it. I’ve been using armor si. Cheaper and just as potent as the other. It does raise my ph a bit.

Biggest they offer is 1L for 200 euros?

GG is 1ml per 10 gallons(roughly)
Power Si is 3ml per 5 gallons

Yeah, it just became available in the US. My buddy got a sample from his local hydro shop and told me about it.

They claim that 1 liter makes 33,333L (8805.647 gallons) or 2000L (528.344 gallons) foliar.

I haven’t done much searching for the best price yet, I’m still waiting for it to become available in WA (supposedly with in a month). They claim the same cost per liter or cheaper than Power Si on their page.

This is interesting and is one way to get low pH monosilicic acid. I believe it needs a stabilizer like PEG-400 or sorbitol to prevent biopolymers. (It’s why concentrated fulvic and silica don’t play well)

As far as rice hulls, I use Riceland PBH instead of perlite. It is slow release. You can char 50% of them to speed that up and it adds carbon, which is fantastic for beneficials.

so if i use agsil16 with agt50 would i need a stabilizer? or is that only for monosilic acids

I’m going tonf8nd out tomorrow if Hawthorne is supplying growgen with it.

so does monosilicic acid only effect hash yields? What’s the effect on the rosin? Higher wax content, lower yield from hash to rosin?

Silica and fulvic don’t work well as concentrates. At final dilution, they work great together.

I’m going to give the GG Mono a shot after this power SI.

Agsil 16H is amazing stuff I’ve been using it for years mixing it at the rate @AgTonik stated above 560 grams to 1 gallon of distilled water and the plants loved it!

Great for my wallet and as strong as pro tekt!

Anyone amending coco with silica instead of using liquid feedings of silica during grow

Yah with rice hulls

Edit I crank it to em with the liquid too

Are you re using the soil, don’t they take a minute to break down and be available?

I reuse a good amount. I find it’s pretty available when I first use it too from what I can tell.

Ill have to try some out next round, it taking awhile to break down was what was keeping me from using it. I don’t re use my soil.

I tried that but the Power Si granular has a terrible smell.

They seem to erode so I’ll find myself adding more and scratching them in. I prefer the hulls to perlite. I need to buy it by the pallet so it kinda sucks. Coir, expanded shale, and hulls is my preferred mix.
