Hello all,
Do any of you have difficulties hitting your concentration target when blending large scale? We’ve been mixing 10kg worth of oil in a batch, using an emulsifier and shaker but find we’re always higher than our target concentration (30mg/g is more like 35mg/g).
Any suggestions would be appreciated
What type of product are you making?
Full spectrum oil. And the legal limit is 30mg/g. We even reworked our other oil, blending one that was at 24mg/g and another at 34mg/g, to give us a product at 35mg/g! How is that even possible?!
Vaporization of lower boiling point compounds during preparation perhaps?

The distillate was purchased from another LP, and we diluted it to a working concentration, and then to a bottling concentration.
We have a theory that it could be over saturated, and that upon making bottling concentration that the THC/CBD’s are coming out of solution. But there are no particulates present
This is a bit far fetched of an idea, but maybe you’re losing enough of your diluent to transfer loss that it is affecting your overall potency. Like a mm film of diluent that never mixes with the cannabinoids, which can happen in improperly sized mixing equipment.
